So I just recently came back to the game. I left shortly after the Magian Trials were released. My BST was still in the lower 50s (still is actually) but I had a WAR at cap that I was using to do axe trials.

Well I don't exactly remember what I was doing but it looks like I was trying to make axes for rampage damage. I have a Renaud +1 (10% WS damage) and a Skeggiold (4dex and 8acc).

The question is, is it even worth finishing these axes? Everywhere I look people only talk about using PDT axes. Have I screwed myself?

I wouldn't go that far, but indeed, your current axes are barely worth finishing.

There are many Axe choices for BST these days, the most popular are Pet PDT and Pet Evasion due to their usefulness for BST solo. Don't fret though, these are very easy to complete, just keep an eye on weather conditions in relevant areas, you get 5 objectives complete for every kill during relevant weather.

For a more DD type BST I recommend STR/Att and DA magian trial Axes.
