Sorry if this sort of thing has popped up numerous times before but i goggled first and didn't know what to type.

I have 2 questions regarding equip... if i am wearing any item say for example brutals earring or rajas ring does my pet gain the effects of those items or are they only for me? and if my pet does gain the effect would he still get the effect if i was not engaged in the mob?

2nd question please, with the -PDT axes does my pet gain the -PDT if i am not engaged in the mob and just my pet is fighting? or do i have to have the weapons drawn?

Thankyou

Hello. :)

1. Equipment stats will only affect your pet if they're prefaced with "Pet:".

2. Pet: PDT- axes will work even if you're not engaged.

Thankyou for the reply.

So basically if i set my pet onto a mob and i stay back and do not engage the mob and i am wearing a rajas ring and an eponas ring i may aswell have no rings on at all as my pet gains nothing from either?

Pretty much, yup.

If you're looking for something to wear while your pet does all the work, you can try PDT/MDT Dark Rings, Sheltered Ring, Paguroidea Ring, or Angel's Ring augmented with Pet: Accuracy +1~+4.

And instead of Suppanomimi/Brutal, you can wear Sabong Earring, Ferine Earring, Ruby Earring with Pet: Attack +1~+5.

Why the Dark Rings? I don't see anything in the list of possible augments that enhances the pet.

You're right, they don't come with any pet enhancement augments. I was just giving an example of something potentially useful to wear in the ring slot while the Pet does all the work. :)

He was meaning that they're decent rings to wear because, in case you got hit by an AoE or you pulled hate doing a Ready, you're not going to take as much damage. If you're not going to be actively fighting and don't have any equipment in that slot to improve your Pet's abilities, you can at least wear gear that will give you Regen/Refresh and/or -Damage Taken.

On that subject, I pride myself on having a pretty amazing "pet-only" set these days. I have stuff with respectable pet-enhancing stats in almost every slot. Had to spam ACP Ivory Key battle a million times to finally get the good pet enhancement earring to pair w/ Sabong Earring, and spent WAY too much gil on tatters to finally get perfect pet-enhancing stats on Adaman Sollerets...but every time I look at myself in my "pet only" set, the ring slots make me cringe. They are literally the ONLY gear slots that have no pet stuff available. I'd love to see SE release a ring w/ pet haste, pet doible attack, or (how amazing would this be?) pet MDB. Fingers crossed for good pet gear from SoA!

Pet: TH+1 ring, yes please.

I am hopeful they will add some more stuff too. They have been way better about adding pet enhancing gear lately. Personally I am hoping for more stuff that enhances both player and pet. I love my moepapa stone, for example, and I'd like to see more stuff like that. It's okay if it's not best in slot for player damage, but it would be nice to have more "mixed" sets for stuff.
