I'll introduce myself here first, since I have never posted here. I got my Bard to 50 a long time ago for completions purposes. When I leveled it I hated it. I refused to level it beyond 50 in fear of getting pigeon holed on it the rest of my career. Moving two years in the future, since I have a PC and an Xbox right next to each other, figured i'd try dual boxing. Having a pocket BRD would be invaluable, especially since I spend a lot of my time on RDM.
Moving on even further, I got my BRD to 23, WHM to 36, and i'm soloing it through FoV's while I do other stuff on my main. I'm actually really enjoying it for some reason. I'm actually even looking forward to partying with it once I get it to 36. (Grr, gonna have to get NIN sub leveled too! ><). Huge change of heart, but I am glad i'm actually liking it this time around.
When I leveled it on my main I used 1 instrument the whole way to 50. (Feel free to tear me apart.) This time around i'm buying all the instrument's I can find. I noticed something, however, that I wasn't aware of before. Minuet II is putting me from 97 attack to 110 without a min+ instrument, and 97 to 115 attack with a min+1 instrument. I figured it was simply attack+1, I had no idea minuet+1 actually added a large amount of attack. I mean I know that's how it works for march, etudes, and things, but I had no idea it worked like this with minuet. I'm sure there is other things it works for like this as well. Wiki gave me no light at all on this topic, and I couldn't find anything in the sticky.
So, here I am, asking the BRD community. Thanks :D

I don't understand why minuet+1 is giving me +5 attack, and i'm wondering what other songs are effected by larger stat bonus's than simply +1.
And I suppose i'm also curious as to if minuet+1 will ever give me more then +5 attack, or if it's static.

No instrument gives only +1 to anything.
It's a static +5 attack, which can be found on the wiki page for minuets, btw.

Minuet is a type of Enhancing Song used by Bards. It increases Attack and Ranged Attack stats for party members within range.
Four songs give this effect. Different tiers can be combined.
* "Minuet Effect" is one of the items within the Bard Group 1 job-specific merit category. Each time this is merited will increase the Attack boost of each Minuet spell cast by 1, up to a maximum of 5. If the Bard fully merits this item and casts two Minuets, players receiving the effects will have 10 more points of Attack than they would otherwise.
* A player wearing the Minuet Earring can gain the earring's +3 Accuracy effect by having at least one Minuet spell cast on them. The effect lasts for as long as the player maintains Minuet status.
It's talking about merits, I see nothing about a +1 minuet instrument giving +5 attack.

Each song is different :3 The +1 and +2 are time modifiers and some are also strength modifiers. The formula is different for each song. (March's formula is probably the most studied since the tiers are base on your wind and singing skill.)
