My topic was the third in the forum. There's no way I posted a repetitive topic, because there was almost nil topics when I posted.

yes... my well thought out and clearly presented argument for including the ability to type japanese characters in the English version was apparently nuked today after a grand 8 hours of being on here, while useless and repetitive posts remain active (make PLD/THF/SAM etc. more useful) remain. Could you please tell me why this has been removed? I thoroughly checked all of the rules and didn't think I was breaking any... plus I asked to be emailed if my thread was deleted so I would know why, I hope at least that courtesy is offered to me....

My suggestion as to another rule:

If your post starts out with the line, expect it to be deleted again. -

"I am reposting this because I cant find my original post. Apparently it got deleted..."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If your first post WAS deleted.. apparently there was a reason. The mods decided it was irrelavent, offensive, or repetitive. Reposting it doesnt make it less so, it just clutters up the board.
If your first post WASNT deleted... well, you just cluttered up the board again, not only repeating a subject matter, but repeating a subject matter that YOU originally posted.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

If mods agree, feel free to post this in your own words or in mine. If you disagree, delete this response.

No offense....but I can't really imagine a Dev coming through this forum as it currently is to see feedback.

You have a forum that has been existing for 3 days now, and has now over 700 posts in it, AFTER several were deleted.

Upon reading many, most topics include topics that are at best irrelevant, at worst, downright racist. The problem being, finding a grain of information is like taking a drink for a firehose. There is by far too many posts here. I myself made a post on Monday, it has been since regulated back to page 14...

If this forum will work, my best suggestion, make sub forums.

Create one for Class Balancing, one for General issues, one for Tradeskill Issues, one for Content issues, one for Bugs that need resolution, and one for Quests and Missions. That way, S-E can also sort to see what areas the players have the most feadback for.

I know, if I were a developer, I would not want to look for posts trying to find out what was wrong, and have to sift through 100 posts that say "Make NA only servers, the JP players have an unfair advantage over me", or 30 posts on "Why we should breed Chocobo's like in Final Fantasy 7 and then Race them"

This is just stupid, some of the threads being deleted, are valid, and good ideas to boot.
For instance I posted an idea about a Casino, and a Gladitorial type arena. The idea was solid, balanced and took a heck of a long time to write up.

Remembering correctly, this forum was posted for Square-Enix to see its employers(players) ideas.
Not our ideas screened by a few people!!!
Simply put Mods, you are deleting too many quality posts.

Do not misunderstand me! I do agree that all posts should be in good taste, and in the best interest of FF, wether via Economy, Fun, or Combat. Whatever works.

I will be posting my casino/areana idea again. This time however the post will be saved to word, and be re-posted if it is deleted again.

If I may, I'd like to suggest that threads passing a certain post number (say, 35 or more posts) should be examined by an administrator and possibly Stickied if deemed worthy. Then examination and discussion of the idea elaborated on in the thread could be further expanded on without frequent bumps being required.

I'm also somewhat curious if deleted threads, if actually good ones, had been taken by the administrators and then forwarded to the SE folk before deletion. I was a bit irked that what seems like the only RDM thread had been deleted, specifically after one person had simply hopped in basically saying, "RDM is the most unbalanced class in the game!" and nothing else. Others that had disagreed with the presented ideas at least gave a reason.

Almost having RDM to 50, we don't particularly excel in anything, even enfeebling since our spells are split between WHM and BLM, except for Gravity. And truth be told, we'd like to offer more to a party than just Refresh or playing WHM when one can't be found.

The only other appropriately titled RDM thread I could think of would be the one concerning the last Genkai and it being much harder in comparison to the other jobs. I'm not even sure if that thread's still around.

I haven't reposted what I did in the RDM thread because I really want to believe there was a good reason for its removal, but if there wasn't, I'll join the others regarding the skepticism regarding our input.

I have two questions:

How did you get S-E to agree to check this forum?

How will we know which posts are from S-E?

Thanks Smiley: boozing

OK heres the deal, threads are being delted for various reason, one of them is they get to high in post count. This is for SE to see, not you guys to TELL them what to do. DO NOT BUMP THREADS. If you bump a thread, not only will it be deleted, but you will also get rated down.

I have a question for the Administrators. I had a thread goin about TP indication in the party window. I get into the forum today and its no where to be found. I look through my logs and find a direct link to the thread:

Updated: TP display - Concept Screenshots

If you go to it, the thread is still there, its just my rating on the leading post was reduced to -1.70. I assume this was meant to make the thread not be displayed by the default filter when people enter the feedback/suggestion forum. My thread also linked to another thread that has had the same thing happen:

The Party Status Window: TP DISPLAY!

i aslo noticed that the Blue Mage thread is gone. were they toasted for getting bumped? with the scrolling problems, how can these threads get exposure without bumps? I'm not arguing, but i would like to know what happened to these threads that i put so much time into. On mine particularly, i spent quite a few hours on graphic work so that i could post concept screen shots. If they were toasted for bumping, can you do me one favor? re-enter it into the forums, and post a warning at the end of my thread that says "This is your final warning, one more bump and this thread is gone". I will be patiently awaiting a response. :)

Yes, there were a couple of posts made to this thread concerning bumping and the like. If people like a post, rate it, don't bump it. Bumping will get the post nuked and the bumping person rated down.

i understand what you're trying to do, but doesn't this eliminate threads that have good suggestions that other people are bumping? people aren't going to bump a poor idea unless its their own. I appologize for bumping my thread, but i honestly didn't look back at this sticky thread till my thread was gone. I read it the first time i was in here, and unfortunately, your post regarding the deletion of posts that are bumped was not up yet.

i beg you to realize that these threads were good, full thought out threads, and they deserve to be given another chance in the feedback/suggestion forum. please consider re-entering these threads into the forum.

Why not just delete the "/bump" posts and not kill the whole thread?

Because its not easy to nuke 100+ bump threads. If the topic was a good one, just recreate it, and tell people to rate instead of bump.

While, I understand the intention, won't this forum get overly crowded by doing this? Currently, this forum has received about 700 posts in 3 days, which results in over 233 posts a day to sift through. Of which some poor S E rep is going to have to read through all of this, and all of the duplicate posts to avoid bumping them. Also, not to offend some of the posters...but some make their arguments a bit...more elloquently than others. If the original thread is well thought out, factual and presented, and gets pushed to page 5, and the new thread is written "DOOD, U N3EDS TO DO THIS!" or similarly, no sensible dev is going to look at it twice, while the idea may be sound, because the original well written one is lost to the vacuous recess that is "Not the first page", it will likely never be seen, especially if S E is not checking this forum on a regular...daily basis.

While I sympathize and even agree, let us not forget the old* adage:

Arguing with an Administrator is kind of like peeing into the wind. It feels good for a second, but you soon realize that it was a really bad idea.

I'm not argueing, I could really care less which way they go, I am merely pointing out a problem that I saw, and that others may see, especially those sifting through this forum...

The goal is to make this the best possible, in order to do that, discourse needs to take place. No single person has the best ideas, but a combination of several ideas can be the best. Thats why brainstorming situations occur, and if they didn't really want feedback, why not have just locked this thread.

Good suggestions will inevitably get discussion, counterarguments, additional development suggestions, et al and stay on or near the front page without needing to be bumped; the "OMG GOLDEN SAUCER" ones will fall gently to the bottom like fish food in an aquarium.

I don't mind nuking the bumped posts. But the really long, articulate discussions getting nuked because they have too many posts is kinda. . . etch.

But still, adages are adages, and in the land of the forums, the Admins are kings. Actually, more like Mini-Gods.

And remembers kids;

Typing in all caps makes your text louder! (Right Haggan?)

If anything, I've learned a lot from the locked-sticky at the top about bumping. It just... jumped right off the page! Woohoo, go caps lock!
