I wonder why we need skill ups for certain categories at all. For weapons its pure timesink, as you have to go out and spend countless hours skilling up each individual weapon that isn't the a or a+ one you mainly use. Its worse for magic, and don't get me started on the need for puppetmasters to skill up three separate categories of skills.
For crafts, it may be ill-advised, as you don't want people to skill up faster in many of them. RMT especially would like some way to speed the skill-up process.
