Enmity is really messed up right now...Follow

Ever since SE adjusted the enmity calculations, things have been really messed up.

Not just for Pet jobs in Adoulin, who can take off 80% of a monster's HP without ever touching it themselves, only to be the focus of attacks instantly the moment they use a job ability, spell or order a special attack...

Also regular jobs in the old area's seem to suffer.

I did some testing on Gigas NM's in La Theine while on PLD. Brought a second character for holding Key Items, who didnt do anything really. When i got the NM Grandgousier down to 40%, in an effort to reapply the Protect that his Catapult dispelled, i casted one single Protect V from my second character, and she instantly was the target of his attacks. Myself being on PLD, flashing whenever i could, that seems really weird. Even with combining it with Divine Emblem and Sentinel, my hate just wasnt enough to handle -ONE- single buff after most of the fight was already done without any other action from her.

To top it off, i went and used Atonement a few times. Since the damage is enmity based, i felt it would be a good baseline to see how things were going. At one point i was doing 300's as a maximum, instead of the 750 before the update. Right when my mule character got taken out around 40% remaining, i did another Atonement and did a whole 95 damage.

These monsters and Notorious Monsters are not known to possess any kind of Enmity decay or Enmity reset.

So the following problems occured:
- RAPID enmity decay
- Inability to build Enmity above 50% of the previous maximum.
- One simple buff from a previously inactive second character generated more enmity than an entire fight on PLD, flashing repeatedly.

Please fix this as soon as possible. You've made the game unplayable for anyone who is currently a support job, a tank or anyone who is using pets in combat.

I concur that solo play is nigh impossible for pet jobs right now. We've ceased using BST at all in Abyssea because it's almost pointless. (Slow and steady was the one thing BST was really great at... now it's gone.) Even a fully decked out Ukon WAR was unable to hold hate against a WHM, BLM, BRD backup set despite provoking every thirty seconds and being the lone damage dealer. A cure V and a regen III got hate on the white mage, a drain and an aspir got hate on the BLM (at least she could toss enmity douse to fix it in the short term), and I had to switch the the enmity up and down songs on BRD just to let us finish our fights.

This isn't limited to high levels either. I was on my 18 DNC last night and I was pulling hate in my exp alliance stabbing things for between 1 and 4 damage AND DOING NOTHING ELSE.

I know I'm late and all but I did want to mention that for your example you actually *were* fighting a monster that has a hate reset move and I'm surprised you didn't know this before (unless you didn't make an Almace on your Paladin). Grandgousier uses two different throwing attacks: Catapult and Trebuchet. Catapult has the dispel like you mentioned but he will *also* sometimes use Trebuchet (which is AE) that does some damage but also complete wipes out hate of everyone it hits.
Necro Warning: This post occurred more than thirty days after the prior, and may be a necropost.

Well, kinda mentioned that in other topic where i copy-pasted this :/ Either way, when i lost hate to a protect, he had not been doing any Trebuchets at all for a good bunch of minutes. And my other character never performed a single action (no resting either) up to that point either. Also, same thing happened on the trash mobs who do not posses such abilities.
