At first THX for making that really great Database and other mini apps (like calculator and Item comparer)

Have few ideas about how to resolve that problem with community:

1.) Gift database to community
2.) Sell database to community
3.) Make Donation to keep it alive (like Wikipedia)
4.) Sell to Nexon NA.
5.) Any other ideas??

Welcome.

Like people above, I registered here only to ask - What the heck is going on here?
We understand that You want make Your profit. But maybe it's time to make it in bit different way?
Or at least You could show on page - "Dear visitors, we need donate to keep alive page".
Otherwise, soon I don't see good future to the rest of Your services...
I don't write it to offend someone - I just FIRST TIME (and probably not only me) see the Zam.com webpage, I didn't even know that VindictusDB was developed by You / Zam.

We are all humans and I think we can get to some compromise.
I don't think You totally don't care about all spend time and hard work to create Vindictus DB.
Everything what we doing we rather don't do only for money, we must like it, at least a bit.:)

So I have few propositions:

- Ask fans or Nexon ( :P ) for some donate, or;

- Find better way for gaining profit, or;

- Hmm, maybe its time to finally oficially inform (or fuse with Official Vindictus) about VindictusDB on ex. Official Vindictus Forums? Because I see that info about existing VindictusDB were given only by fans (not zam.com). So no wonder that around only 10% of players I guess knew about this DB page...? or;

- If You really don't want lead on Vindictus DB anymore, then give us its (f[i]or really interested person in continuing this project or to Nexon
) files and database.
Because You don't need it after all, right?

Kind Regards, Miria.

Seriously, can't you guys at least sell the database or ask for an amount in donations to bring back db? Im sure everyone will take this as a "warning" and turn off adblocker for vindictusdb afterwards ._.

Everyone who looks up anything for vindictus (NA) uses vindictusdb since our wiki died, db is really the only up to date database for vindictus right now... well was.
#32 Oct 29 2014 at 10:27 PM Rating: Decent
Please bring it back. Many players can't play without it since it was the only complete and on-date database out there.

Sorry folks, I'm just the messenger. We made sure that your voices were heard, but there just wasn't enough traffic. (Before anyone else asks, no, I don't know what "enough" is, nor what it costs. Not my department.)

I'm really sorry :(

If it wasn't making money for them, no business will likely buy it. That said, if you know a business that would consider it, you should have them contact the Zam overlords. That would certainly be more of a motivation than a few users asking for it.

Took the VindicusDB for granted, and now its gone. Hopefully it can make a reappearance if enough people speak up~

Can you please ask the team if it's possible to have the project transferred to a different owner?

Also, as I mentioned, I can provide free hosting. If it was shut down due to too expensive hosting, this would solve the problem.

"Voices" of people are also show that there are more who care about case.
But anyway, I just send appropriate message to Zam.:)

So thanks for answers as well.

I'm willing to bet that ad-blocker and similar software / apps were part of the reason. Those ads help offset the cost, right?

Really sad to see it go, have been using it often for the better part of 3 years, even disabled adblock on the site. I hope something can be done to restore it or save some of the work that went into assembling all the data in such a nice format.

This is a big hit on the experience of any new Vindictus player. Please try donations or sell us the info or it will be very hard to update other sites.

Vindictus is Popular. Take a look at the rankings of Vindictus on any video about top free MMOs:

If you're going to use that as an argument, you might want to use a video that isn't over a year old.

It was just an example. Check the video of this year if you don't believe me you a**hat:

Vindictus running in Source Engine makes it hard for any MMOs to replace its uniqueness in terms of art and gameplay even for the next several years.

Name calling aside, believe it or not, I am trying to help. It was just friendly advice. I even spent some time trying to find some kind of population numbers to corroborate for you, but I couldn't find anything.

Not that it would do anything in the face of internal site traffic numbers. But I tried anyway.
#45 Oct 30 2014 at 1:34 PM Rating: Decent
That's sad because everyone on Vindictus had Vindictusdb as their best and only database, except for a couple of people that speak korean and use inven or the armory.
If numbers are not corroborating I think it means that they don't have the time, not that they are not interested. Maybe start a donation campaign and then we'll see the numbers.

I used this site just about every day. I would be willing to pay a large chunk of my money to bring this site back online. Is the information that was on the site still saved somewhere, at least? I almost felt like throwing up when I couldn't access VindictusDB anymore. There has to be something that someone can do about this.
#48 Oct 30 2014 at 2:48 PM Rating: Decent
If possible - assuming everything is still in place, just the domain is being redirected, I'd ask the community is given another chance - say give it another month. Put a notice on the site about it's status, offer to accept donations. I'm guessing you're missing lot of revenue from ad-blockers, which people don't take seriously, but will now. It isn't right to shut down the site with no advance warning without giving the community a chance turn things around.

+1 I'm one of the people that never disabled it.

However, I repeat, if money is the problem to keep it online, I can offer free hosting of mine for this. The comparison tool of VindictusDB was extremely useful, and no other site offers this functionality in a clear way like VindictusDB did.

You're not the only one. If they close it because of money, are they listening to this?
I'm starting to think why they are called ZAM Overlords (Zonked Avaricious Monkeys Overlords. lol jk).

Its a good site. Please bring it back.
