Hi, everyone. I just recently started FFXI and joined Bahamut. I am a Bastoker and a RDM, and am looking for some tips.
1- I am playing on XB360 and want to get all the achievements. Is this possible still and how long will it take?
2- What should my first priority be? Leveling? Grinding gil? Questing? Crafting?
3- I am looking for a LS to join. I want some people to ask questions and help me if I really need it. My name is "Drsmack". Thanks for all your help people!

I play on 360 as well but haven't looked at the achievements in a while but from what I remember a lot of em was to get jobs to lvl 75 which will take a long time. So I really wouldn't worry about achievements.

Well imo I'd focus on lvling while doing lvl appropriate quests along the way. Just for fame and such. You'll have to google where the quests are theres now ? above anyone's head like other mmo's. Gil now is easy to get imo. As while killing mobs they drop brown chests which most of the time have equipment. So just sell what you don't need and you should be find for awhile.

I've been playing since launch off and on and I recently came back, so all my Linkshells are long gone. But feel free to /tell me anytime I'm on my character is Soulfyr

Thanks for the quick replies guys. As a small aside (I may be getting a little off topic here) what is a good craft for a RDM? I don't plan on starting yet but do plan on saving materials relevant to the craft which I will do. Thanks again!

No idea there, for as long as I've been playing I've never really done any crafts. My highest is cooking and that was years ago.

Most beneficial I can think of right off might be cooking for things early on like MP refresh drinks. There might also be Alchemy. Silent Oils are always a good seller, Echo Drops are good if you ever decide to fight something like Anticans. Even sleeping potions, poison potions, hi potions...all have a use at some point.

Also, look into Records of Eminence. You should be able to start that right off. Doing these will get you Sparks, sparks get you free gear. And definitely research before you buy. Sometimes a scroll for learning a new spell is cheaper from an NPC in town than it is from the Auction House. Same thing with crafting materials. Every piece of Gil you can save will be worth it the closer you get to endgame.
