Here is the next installment of the little taru. It can also be found on http://www.opendiary.com under the author name Kitaru. I'm still not real sure of how I'm going to end this one so feel free to pm me some suggestions. I hope you all enjoy!!! ^.^
The little taru pulled the hood of the tattered cloak down to hide his face as he spoke with the deliveryman. Jeuno was lively as ever on this fine day , and he didn't care to be spotted.
"You've quite a bit of valuable equipment there , I trust it will ALL find it's way to it's intended recipients?" The little taru asked warily.
"Aye , little sir, of that you can count on." The hume deliveryman answered happily.
The little taru nodded and turned into the bustling crowds of Jeuno to make his way towards the chocobo stables. He had been very busy that day. Unbeknownst to each of his friends , he had been to visit them that day while they were adventuring, watching from a distance..... for one last time.
Earlier that day the little taru had been summoned once again by the Archduke of Jeuno. While giving audience , he received very explicit instructions for a mission.... another death sentence from the Archduke for suspecting foul doings in Jeuno. His friends could never know... he couldn't bear the thought of them losing their lives for him.
At the mere thought of them finding out the little taru pulled the tattered cloak more tightly around him as he worked his way towards the stables. The loud white and red of his healer's gear was noticeably absent under the cloak.... as was the rest of his armor. For this fight armor was useless, a fool's errand if ever there was one.
The little taru laughed.... he didn't have to fight it.... just observe it for a while. He had heard the rumors... this beast had true sight so there was nothing that his stealth spells could possibly do for him.
At last he had reached the stables , where he pushed his way through the doors and quickly paid the stableman. The chocobo sped quickly over the hills of Battalia , headed towards Jugner. The trip would find him soon in Ronfaure and then finally the tomb of King Ranperre.
By day's end the little taru stood to the entrance of King Ranperre's tomb. He drew in a deep breath before he entered into the dark tomb. Somewhere down here was his objective...
"You needn't engage the beast," the Archduke's had said , "only get close enough to take a scale."
...the dragon...
