Finding it terribly difficult to level up...Follow

Its crazy to think that it's easier to lvl from 75-90 than the lower lvls. I can't find a sync party, shouting for a smn burn didn't work to well, and leeching in abyssea isn't viable. How the heck can someone who's highest lvl is 52 level up? I can solo at 2k an hour, sure, but smashing my head against the wall is more enjoyable. If I can't find a good way to lvl up, i'm probably gonna quit at the end of the month, any advice? :(

Abyssea really changed how the game functions for lower level players or newbies. People don't really want to exp anywhere else simply because it's easier to just leech and pop chests and make the same exp you'd make in a 2-3 hour at level exp party in about 10-20 mins. If you don't have the expansion and if you're wanting to stay you should probably pick it up. But since you said that's not an option you can try to make a MMM party. It was really popular with the Japanese crowd and they usually shout for people (not seen as many lately but seen a few.) You can also try to find people who are still working on sub jobs to 49 and try to make a sync party with them. I don't think everyone has their subs to 49 yet, and some just do them to go with the cap increase (like myself) so if you ask around in your ls or some friends you might be able to get a group for an east ron party. Campaign is always an option too, although it might be a lot harder now with less people doing it. Your under 65 so your exp in campaign might be a little gimped in comparison to what you'd normally get. For all the ease Abyssea put on level 75+ it put a lot of stress on the lower levels since people don't want to do anything but Abyssea. I know there's a person in my ls having the same problems you are. He's been stealing ls mates to sync to while they work on subs to get some extra exp in. Hope you can get thing's figured out, despite all the rough patches the game is fun if you've got good friends.

So if I want to continue playing, I gotta get Abyssea. Sigh, guess that's my only option.

Even without Abyssea exp parties, the inclusion of Bastion has made getting a few thousand exp on any level 30+ job that can heal or stay alive a possibility,

If you have Wings of the Goddess, there's always Campaign Ops as well as Campaign.

But really, you'll have to buckle down and get at least one of the Abyssea expansions. I suggest the second one if all you want is to exp; you can hit 80-100K/hour out in a solid crawler alliance in Attowah, and people are so desperate for bodies they'll invite any mage over level 60 these days.

he/she can't make a pt if no one exsists to pt with lol. Indeed it is lame and you'll be skilling up forever if you do the whole abyessa leech thing but its the only real option atm.

Maybe someday se will fix lvling outside of abyessa but it's no where in sight atm.

Agreed - I've been working on getting BLU to Abyssea levels, and last time I checked to make a party (two, three days ago on Bis), '/sea all 30-70 inv' returned 12 names, one of which was /away, two were blue-dot, two were "[A] only". I've been soloing some, and leeching as chest-slave in ls parties, but it's still annoying. Bastion is a decent way to get exp, and FoV can be good, but neither really compares to a good bird or dhalmel party - and there simply aren't the resources out there for one of those.

Hey, we have a group of friends that are looking to add more to our static if you are wanting someone to level with. We all have at least 1 75, but we are all levelling our second jobs now. Just /tell aryas, ninnuam, or hopefades. We try to have the tank and healer slots filled at all times and normally are just looking for DD. Abyssea is fun, but the old stuff is where this game really shines in my opinion. But yeah send us a tell! And that goes for anyone looking for a more traditional PT setup.

Edit: adding stuffs

Just wanted to say I saw 3 parties in Qufim on Tuesday, and another 3 in Valkurm yesterday. Getting a group together, or building a party should be significantly easier now.

But I was getting 200+ a mob solo fighting EPs and DCs on 21 BLU in Valk, so I didn't feel the need to join one myself.

Seriously. Abysea is boring, if you ask me >.>
Fun, do you need it? Abysea is no fun to me...sry.
It's ok, if you're 65+, i guess.
But omg, the game is way more fun before.
Take your char+job and explode vana'diel (:
Talk to the npcs in the cities and do some of their quests.
I love to it to talk to all the npcs, they will pay you with items and cash.
Visit the areas, kill some ep-dc mobs, exp is decent but still ok, do Fov while you do this, hunt nms or quest mobs while you do this... If you get back of your hunt, sell your stuff in the ah etc.
You can lfg too, of course. There is much to do! I'm sure, there are still some people, you can exp with, its rubbish that you cant do that anymore.
FFXI has a atmosphere, most games wont have ever, damn, use it! If you spend all day in abysea getting all your jobs
to lv 100, the game is pretty dead for you, trust me...
If all you want is to hit lv 100 as fast as possible, try to leech in abys, yeah.... but i dont see the point in this,
however, thats up to everyone. *dreams of old ffxi days*

Btw, people let leech you in abysea, really? you mean ls, friends etc or?
dont think alot will adopt a lv 10 in their abys party >.>

*p.s: if there are any mistakes in my text, pls let it me know, i love to get better in english :P

Yeah, they do. If they have a leech or two in there to open chests for them, that's more time they have to kill stuff. The loss of a couple spots for kill speed is more than made up by not having to stop after every kill and watch everyone stand around a chest trying to see what's in it. Having a couple people dedicated to this task is much more efficient.

However, you're right. Nobody is going to take a level 10 into their Abyssea party, because you must be level 30 to enter :P
Necro Warning: This post occurred more than thirty days after the prior, and may be a necropost.

I heard a rumor that they are raising the level requirement for Abyssea to 70. If that happens maybe real parties will come back and people will be able to experience the entire game, not just 1-30+abyssea...
