He's known it all along. Not only has he known it all along, but all conservatives have known this all along and this is why conservatives are always for smaller government.

Theoretically for small government, sure. In practice, something always seems to get in the way.

I'm reasonably sure we can safely say that this is the group everyone is talking about.

And they would need it if it was a state sanctioned lottery, trip to Vegas, a day at the ponies, or some back-alley poker game where there are armed gangsters outside.

Sure. But this is the government doing it to them, and at remarkably worse odds for the player. I can see how some might be indignant about how their government shouldn't be encouraging that sort of self destructive behavior. For me personally, it's more of a cynical acknowledgement that government is just as willing (and arguably more able) to take advantage of people's folly as anyone else.

Government doesn't have a will.

Where there's a will there's a way.

You've sucked this thread dry. Hey, you should start another.

Corporations and governments are both run by people. People have free will, and rights. You know, just to connect the dots for you all.

I don't see the connection.

Let me see if I can dig up an outrageous analogy.

If my car drives itself into an 87 year old grandpa one can assume the car was doing it of it's own free will?

Well of course cars have free will, because owning a car equals FREEDOM and LIBERTY, and you can't have either without free will.

Um... No. In more or less the same way if a corporation spends money on a political campaign, it didn't do that of it's own free will either. Thus establishing that people who claim that allowing corporate funds to be used in that way means that "corporations are people" are freaking idiots. Get it yet?

I think corporations should have a right to bear arms. How else are they supposed to protect themselves from bandits and hoodlums?

So, if corporations are people, two similar ones can't merge because gay marriage is bad, right?

Like the Supreme Court?

I agree; deciding corporations should be free to spend whatever they want on political stuff because spending = "freedom of speech" was a terrible decision. Nice to see you on the correct side for a change.

Who needs security cameras when you could have security gattling guns instead? The world would be a much safer place!
