Why do rodeo winners get great big belt buckles as an award?

To make an impression on their girlfriends.

When Noah sends his animals to go forth and multiply, a pair of snakes replies “We can't multiply, we're adders” — so Noah builds them a log table.

I honestly tried to upvote you for this, but then I realized that this isn't Reddit, and I'm kinda drunk.

You too. Also, seriously, no windows 9? and also, 8 is bad enough, how terrible is 10 gonna be? I mean, yeah, they have a habit of having every second version of windows being awesome(98, xp, 7), but, really, I can't see 10 being any less ******* annoying than 8.

I've played with the early 10 beta, and it's much more usable than 8.1 was. The start menu is still not quite where I would like to see it, but it's a lot more usable than it was, and almost as good as 7. The backend improvements from the 8.1 engine to SSD speed and graphical backend are still there too, so that in my mind at least cancels out some of the remaining start menu flaws. My main problem with 8 all alon has been the UI. They have fixed most of that now. We'll see if it all sticks to the final release variant, but as it is right now I probably would install a production version of it.

Guess I'll have to fire up the ol' Inspiron 2650 like I did for the Win7 RC...

Ok, I have some hope then. My main problem with 8 so far(aside from the terrible UI) has been that even when I set VLC to be the main prograam for video files, it always opens in windows video if I just double-click, and the fact that it makes it incredibly difficult to mod games, and install games I got via non-physical copy means. And my lack of a disc drive, but that's Acer;s fault, so I can't really blame Windows for that, much as I want to.

I've never had good experiences with VLC. I prefer Media Player Classic coupled with the CCCP codec pack.

I like Media Player Classic, but I've always had more problems with that, despite the codec pack, than I ever have with VLC. I do keep WMPC around in case I have an issue with VLC, but for now it's my main go-to for videos.
