Just leave 'em in the trunk. So much trouble getting them in and then out and then in again.

At what point do I appoint them to high office?

I'm a little confused by all this.

Aaaaaaaaand uninstalled. I forgot how awful the questing system was, and staring at your spellbook is even more tedious than I remember. I think I'm done with MMOs. There's nobody I really want to play with, and the lack of denouement is frustrating.

Why are you staring at your spell book? Is it 1999 again?

Ahaha you think I do that for fun.

No really, this is what running a Minecraft server looks like. Over the years I have grown to hate Minecraft and I never actually log into the server myself unless I absolutely have to.

I picked up the PC port of Dragon's Dogma. It's like playing an MMORPG except to you don't have to talk to anyone in your pick-up group and they're less retarded than normal.

MMOFPS was pretty neat for awhile, but Planetside 2 kinda went downhill.

I actually arrived on this site back when the official EQ site contained a link to Alla's as a source of information for new players. And yeah, I remember the "good old days", and I totally agree with Joph on the fact that the same feeling just can't be had again. Games have progressed so much, and provide so many useful tools in-game, that trying to play like we did back then feels constrained and slow and likely frustrating. But back then, it was all new. So for us, all those things were just awesome. Spending hours camping one little orc camp was fun. Spending 30 minutes traveling from Freeport to BB and then hoping to get a bind before something killed you was fun. The game world just seemed so huge back then.

I've done a few Quake LANs. Weekend events in the city, etc.

Oh, hell.

To answer the OP's question: I came for the EQ forum but 1st posted in the Asylum, of all places.

Hah! Newb. Before it was the Asylum, it was the OOT. Then it was decided to be too rough for the good little chilrens, so it was renamed the Asylum, and a new forum created and called OOT. Which is why the Asylum is forum number 4, and OOT is forum number 28.

I started out on the Everquest forum years ago, my first post was on December of 2002. Haven't been to this site in forever and just decided to check it out for the hell of it.

Quote:
-Are you playing the game at all?
I'll log in once in a while whenever my current mmo has maintenance.

Quote:
-What would it take to get you back? Or is it all Smiley: motz for you?
All it'll take is me getting bored of all the other mmos out there which I don't see happening anytime soon. Additionally, the last time I seriously played was in 2004 and I don't feel like playing years of catch up.

Quote:
-What are your best memories of EQ? [I like the idea of asking the question here vs. the EQ general forum as many of you won't have played EQ in ages].

My best memory was when I first starting playing, it was like exploring a new world. I made an iksar monk as my first character which isn't the best starting race/class for a newbie at that time.

Another good memory I have was when I wiped the floor with this 56 shaman who was talking smack about how he'll destroy my 55 sk in the arena. The fight started out good but for some reason when he was down to about 20% hp he started to run around in circles, not circle strafing, but running laps around me. I had no clue what he was doing and I just continued to hit him with my spells and eventually beat him.
Necro Warning: This post occurred more than thirty days after the prior, and may be a necropost.
