Dear Lord...
What kinds of unholy places did they drag you too!?
I bought the hard root beer at the grocery store on a lark. It was fairly tasty.

I read or heard about people using it in an actual "Float"... and while it seemed appealing before I tasted it, once I tasted it I decided that was a bad idea. Not even worth attempting.
My sister tried it and said it was pretty good, though not as good as a Guinness float.

(how do you feel about stinky cheese, for example?)
Not a fan of anything much stronger than sharp cheddar.

So it's most likely the grains themselves. Ciders, meads, and wines all involve fermentation of other things (fruits of various sorts), which I'm guessing you're ok with. Just stick with those, if you want.
I like most ciders(prefer them a little sweet). I've had mead I liked and mead I didn't. And wines are hit and miss for me. Truth be told, if I'm drinking wine, I usually mix a cheap table red with equal parts Sprite for something not unlike a cranberry cocktail in flavor. I'm also a fan of brandy/cognac and rum, though I prefer the former for cooking over drinking.

So if you like the taste of gin, for example, you'd actually prefer a heavily hopped beer more than less hopped beers.
Maybe. Like I said, I'm no connoisseur of beers. I've just had about two dozen different kinds shoved in my face with a promise of "surely you'll like this one!"
Oh, and since this thread is about Bernie, or at least was,
this happened. I'm sure it'll clinch the nom.
