So, this is going to sounds trivial, I think it isn't.

I think too much. I have a hard time relating to people because I tend to understand the world in a mechanical way. My life is rather stressful at the moment and for the last few years. I have a job that essentially requires me to be social so I've learned to fake it quite well but that leaves me drained by the time I get home from work.

I want to say that reading this forum has kept my mind focused for many years and the decline has been more difficult to accept than I would have imagined.

Sorry to hear it. Have you tried any other forums or (shudder) Reddit?

Forum being inaccessible for most of the day doesn't really help matters.

I feel your pain, Broseidon. People suck. I can relate to them. I just hate most of them and have to fake that I don't while at work. Vacations are week long sessions of acting like a hermit, with occasional bouts of hanging out with people I don't hate.

Work seems to think you can download or play a game on this forum, so it's banned. Smiley: frown

Yeah despite the general irritation with how this place has been run, it's been a good refuge for years. Sad to see it going the way it has, but this the nature of things I suppose. Guess I'm lucky in that I don't hate reddit at least, so there's options there. Place doesn't build community like here though, comments and conversations are too fragmented, and the place is like a bee hive. Still nice place to be able to find people who are in to certain things you're into at the moment; they has subreddits for everything.

Also something, something, haha we're old... Smiley: glare

Have your people contact my people with either an email address I can send an amazon gift certificate to...OR...a physical address I can send in kind items with an equivalent value to. I'd choose the items, because it would be more interesting, but $20 doesn't mean much to me. I assume it can feed a family of 4 for 5 years in Kalamazoo or Wichita, or wherever it is you people are, so I'd understand if you insist on that option.

By people I mean our wives.

We already have each other's addresses and contact information. Also, a safe house.

Listen, people get uncomfortable when they realize I know where they live and what that lake must smell like in August. I try to observe some pro forma niceties from time to time.

Tact: You should look into it.

Did I ever tell you the story about the first time that I bet him a dollar on something and then insisted he send it to me in the mail when he lost? He was annoyed about needing to go buy a stamp and an envelope and was all in a huff about it, but a deal's a deal. I received my dollar some days later, taped to a note that something along the lines of, "Here's your ******* dollar, are you happy now?". I framed it and hung it in my kitchen.
