Gbaji is going to spend the next six months insisting that he doesn't support Trump while constantly insisting that Trump will win, he's an awesome campaigner, his is the best message, there's absolutely no nationalist (much less racist) tone to Trump's policies that attracts certain people, etc.

This will be more tiresome than if he just openly supported Trump.

Which thread are we using for results? Cruz floated the idea that if he pulls a win in Nebraska he'd restart his campaign. 0% and Trump is already the declared winner, surprise surprise.

15% West Virginia, Sanders leading, again ho hum.

This thread is as good as any for results. I saw the Cruz comment and sort of boggled.. "Hey, guys! I dropped out but if you vote for me anyway I might come back? Anyone? Huh?"

"Did I say Nebraska? I ... I meant Oregon! If you vote for me in Oregon I'll come back! Promise!"

West Virginia declared, Sanders is 4 closer to that win.

Speaking of, Electoral-Vote.com ran some numbers yesterday and determined that, if all the superdelegates were awarded proportionally with state wins, Sanders would still be 350 delegates behind. Something to note as some people get all excited that the Maine Democratic Party voted to bind its superdelegates based on popular vote totals.

Zzz, only deluded idiots and crackpots thought he had a chance even months ago and he's still dragging out the farce. We have Trump for that, Cruz. He has a killer sense for this kind of thing, and you... don't. Go back to what you're good at.

Well, Cruz hasn't been caught for the Zodiac killings so he's got some kind of sense for it.

Couple national polls showing a close race, PPP with Clinton +4 and Reuters with Clinton +1, both with a large segment of undecideds (Reuters was like 14%)

Doesn't change my opinion that Clinton will win, especially for how early out the polls are and the still running primaries. Obama was +2 over McCain at this time back in 2008 for comparison. Waiting on more polling closer to the summer before running in circles and waving my arms.

Zweitbeste, obviously. Donald is a cunt, but he's the master when it comes to this kind of thing.

Agreed. The only way she won't win the general election is if the FBI indicts her for espionage before then.

She should pick Bill as VP. Smiley: lol

Despite all his rage, he's still a rodenty-lookin' guy in a cage...

Also, that "25 years" is pretty random. Far longer than the American Civil War, far shorter than the abolitionist movement.

I imagine it has something to do with all the other problems with Texas and their school textbooks.

Speaking of people not knowing what's happening around them, you know how when your parents and/or grandparents learn a hip new term and try to use it in a sentence and completely botch it? The Stop Trump PAC recently tweeted this amusing inspirational message and quickly removed it.

Super PACs trying to be edgy. It's like an e-mail scammer that got a hold of a recent google search list and is flooding everyone's inboxes with messages that have the top hits in the subject line. Smiley: rolleyes

Also that 'e-mail' and 'google' probably qualify as un-hip parent things now.

Speaking of Super PACs, I believe that I forgot to mention the other day that Hillary's Super PAC gave an early Christmas present to the trolls of the internet.

Reddit trolls are going to troll regardless. Might as well try to push some counter info. It's not like they were some silent bunch until this happened -- this happened specifically because they were already in force.

They're trying to use hired people to fight people who do this kind of thing daily for fun.

It's gonna go like that one time Tumblr tried to raid 4chan. Or that other time Tumblr tried to raid 4chan.

Understood. But they were doing it daily for fun anyway. Again, you can't blame the response for the event that prompted it.

Well, no. But they're feeding the trolls. Dumping gasoline on the trash fire, as it were.

Sure, it was going to burn anyway. But now someone might end up as a cautionary fail video on Youtube.

The last eight years of internet nonsense about Obama have shown that there isn't really any extra fuel to add to these things. Perhaps we'd have seen the same about Bush except Facebook wasn't a thing yet, MySpace didn't have the same mechanics to spread disinformation and Twitter didn't exist. Our current president has been the one lucky enough to live in this age of trolls and people just trying to spread lies.

So I don't really think that anything Clinton (or a firm hired by) is going to "make it worse". As you already said, these people are doing it for kicks -- it's not as though they liked kicks any less a month ago. Add to that the bitter Bernie kids pouty that Sanders isn't going to win and the basement misogynists mad that a woman dares to be in the spotlight and "adding gasoline" is likely pouring some fuel on a nuclear blast: largely inconsequential.
