I think he's had a pretty clear stance previously on whistle-blowing vs random, unfiltered, document dump.

If the only reason you can imagine to be opposed to Snowden's actions is "anti-whistleblower" then, sure.

The documents were filtered.

Maybe it was the Transgender-Spy that he commented on before.

Adorable. Get back to me when he's not a guest of the Russian state, having bought his way in with US security and intelligence secrets.

But he made some Tweets! What a guy!

Your right, he should have just stayed in the US and have gotten executed or jailed for shedding light on unconstitutional programs that violated the civil liberties of Americans.

And then attempt to commit suicide after watching Clinton get off scot free.

That person has some pretty severe mental issues.

Sounds like a fair assessment based on that one action alone.

I know I feel much safer with US security and intel secrets in Putin's (and China's and God knows who elses) hands. Thanks, Snowden! Keep Tweeting, you magnificent hero!

Executed? No. Jailed? Yes. Please tell me that you still don't believe the "fighting for justice" nonsense? Do you need to see the Englishman interpretation again?

Yeah, because if a single contractor can get their hands on them, it is beyond the realm of possibility that any other actors already had their dirty paws in them. Clearly, it is impossible. Oh wait, didn't we just have an SOS who was ( what was that phrase again that Comey used that sounded like gross negligence, but apparently wasn't ) 'extremely careless' to the point where 'bad actors' had time to browse at their leisure? We did! And yet he is on the run, while HRC is out in the public light attempting to lie Americans into a presidency.

She is lucky. Really lucky. If Trump was not her opponent, she wouldn't make it.

That's the defense? I just want to be clear: The defense to Snowden trading US intel secrets to Russia for his own security ("but he did it for you!") is "Well, maybe they already knew"?

Well, ok then.

It is not a defense. It is a perspective. It was not difficult for Snowden. How difficult do you think it would be for a nation-state with near endless resources? Not very is the correct answer.

As for the he "did for me" angle, you do realize that S tried to do the responsible thing and, well, media, apparently, were not that interested. The difference between S and Manning, Drake and countless others was that he saw what happened to them and opted to be prepared.

He did this country as service. You. Me. Everyone.

Not one I share. "Maybe they knew" in no way makes "Now they absolutely certainly know" any less shitty.

He certainly did himself a service when he traded my security for his own.
