What is it about characters from previous space-time universes and heads? Relic has like coatrack nubs.

One pet peeve/question that I have.

Is there a rule on waiters not collecting your credit card immediately after handing you your bill. I can not for the life of me get a waiter to pick up my credit card as they hand me my bill. They will walk off and return to pick it up later.

Sure wasn't when I was one. The quicker you paid, the quicker i got you out and someone new in that seat, so I could make more money.

Makes sense to me. I'm not sure why they all refuse to take it. I'm talking different states, countries and types of restaurants.

Because most people aren't sitting there waiting with their credit card in hand when the waiter happens to come by with the bill. I suspect that in most cases, it's a matter of being as polite to the guest as possible and not appearing to rush them. Most people want to go over the bill and make sure everything is in order before handing over their card. For the waiter, it just makes more sense to drop the bill off, then go off to deal with other tables for a few minutes, then come back.

I can't speak to them actually refusing to take the card if you're handing it to them right at that moment, but is that really what's happening? Are you sitting there waiting, card in hand, to hand it to the waiter when he/she walks up with the bill? Or does the bill arrive, and you respond by asking the waiter to stand by the table while you dig out your card? Cause I could totally see them not wanting to do that. For a number of reasons.

People who walk and mess with their phone at the same time.

I'm going to have to start placing random cactuses around the hallways just for them to walk into.

I have the card in hand, in their face, with me saying "here you go" and they walk off. Every single time. That makes no sense.

Dunno man. Maybe it's just you? Smiley: tongue

Do they just ignore you, or say something like "take your time, I'll be back shortly"? It may just be a policy thing maybe? I've never worked as a waiter, so I'm probably the worst person to even speculate on this (hah, like that'll stop me!), but if I were to speculate, I'd think that maybe they have a cycle of tables they're going through, and breaking it to deal with actually taking the card on the "hand out the bill" cycle can mess up their timing, resulting in increased chance of mistakes (like handing the wrong card back to the wrong table, which is totally a thing that happens sometimes). Or maybe it's a CYA thing and their management tells them to always give the customers X amount of time with the bill before taking their payment so that the customer can't claim they were rushed later if they disagree with the bill, or some other problem comes up.

Or maybe it's aliens.

It appears to be a policy thing. It's why I ask. They just drop off the bill and keep moving and pretend as if they don't see me trying to hand them the credit card. Next time, I will ask a question in order to stall time and hand the bill while talking to them.

Hey. It's your peeve. Personally, in the grand scheme of time involved in eating out, the couple minutes between when the bill gets handed to me, and when the waiter comes back to pick it up is pretty irrelevant to me. I guess if it really bothers you, maybe you should ask the waiter if that's a policy, and why it is. I've never noticed this either way, but then I've never actually attempted to hand the waiter my card right at the moment I'm handed the bill. You seriously don't want to even look at the bill first before paying?

Been playing League of Legends lately. I'd say it's a pretty huge peeve doing any PvP match without fail that I am always paired with some complete idiot who dives into a fight he can't possibly win, dies, then proceeds to blame me, ******** and moaning throughout the entire game, because I could not somehow save his stupid feeding *** while he then proceeds to do it again and again. Every. Time. Someone completely different. Every. *******. Time.

Swap out "League of Legends" for "Everquest" and "PVP Match" for "pick up group" and that post right there was 20% of Alla posting for, like, years.Smiley: laugh

Pretty sure you can hot swap any MMO and most people in it's game will complain about pick up groups. They're just the worst.

And team game, period. People will rage in L4D2, Payday, Rocket League, TF2/CoD/BF/CS/whatever-shooter, MOBAs, etc about their teams and the idiots ruining their games.

Granted, it's usually warranted because everyone is stupid.

Speaking of, I'm pretty terrible at Rocket League but me and a couple friends (on PC) were playing public games last night cross-platform against PS4 players and I swear, PS4 players must be the Washington Generals of Rocket League. Out of eleven games, at least six were 6-0 shutouts or worse and we didn't lose a single game.

It's not like an FPS where you have the whole M+KB vs Controller debates (I think my friends use controllers, I use M+KB) so I wonder if there's some other technical reason why they kept losing besides "lol console players sux".

I'm beginning to realize why League of Legends has such a bad reputation. It's like: Combine everything that has been said about what applies to all team games, etc-- and add heavy amounts of what has become known as "victim culture."

At the end of every game, there is a button next to each players name where you can report them. On the report form, the reasons you can select are practically anything you can imagine. In game, people whine in /all chat (both teams can see) constantly. They will plead to both teams to report x person for everything and anything at all. They will always refer to you by your character's name, in my case either Jinx or Miss Fortune (or "MF" which is another peeve because to me MF just means "mother fucker.")

If you stop moving for two seconds to scratch your ***, it's "report MF for afk." If you don't play the character they don't want you to play it's "report MF for auto locking." Just all kinds of really petty and stupid things and it's like they just can't wait to find some reason to cry to both teams to report someone in hopes one of the poor souls who's job it is to monitor these things might give a damn (they don't.)

What results from this is a lot of retaliation back and forth while other players on both teams jump in and take sides and argue and ***** the entire game about how much x player sucks more than y while others just stop playing altogether just to stand in the spawn areas and cry about their hurt feelings-- all of which results in more REPORT THEM I GOT A SCREENSHOT-s.

It just seems like all of this could be avoidable if only the game's developers themselves weren't complete idiots. I mean, just get rid of the "report" button and 90% of this goes away. Maybe come up with a way for players to pick the characters and positions they want to play before they enter the queue to find a group so they aren't fighting over it before and during every game.
