I have been having a blast levelling my Bard in Korrolaka Tunnel. One problem I encountered was that I had to party with Japanese players all along.

It may sound odd, but what happened to the NA? I did a quick /sea and my answer lied in Valkurm Dunes.

My LS mate and I are racing for levels. He was in the dunes in a NA party while I was using the auto-translator to its fullest to coordinate a JP party. I found one NA in my entire search (hello Maniac). I ended up going from level 11 to 19 with JP only parties. I do play at normal hours, the JPs are usually up till 3-4am their time to party with me. Some were even on from 1-2am to 10am.

Not complaining, just finding it odd that I cant get a NA party. But the 8 levels in under 6 hours (some time lost getting a Ranger and a Black Mage from Valkurm and getting everyone in)

Great times, but I do like to make a joke once in a while and my Dance hume Dance macro is getting old....

Well, our server does have quite a few Japanese players. When I was a lower level, I noticed that a lot of Japanese players really like to level in Korroloka as opposed to English speaking players who really like Valkurm.

What time were you partying at? There are decent hours here that are decent hours there.

Pacific Time Zone +16 hours = Japanese Time
Mountain Time Zone +15 hours = Japanese Time
Central Time Zone +14 hours = Japanese Time
Eastern Time Zone +13 hours = Japanese Time

Our server does seem to have a good amount of JP players. Korroloka always seems to be JP dominated. Reason being? This always happens to me...

I'll be leveling a job around 13-14 and I'll be reminded of how bad the Dunes really do suck. I decide to leave and create a party for Korroloka. I'll send /tells to people who are in the Dunes, La Thiene, Highlands, etc. My most comment response from NA players is: that's too far of a walk, I'm just going to party in the Dunes. Now this really irritates me. If you've ever partied in the Korroloka Tunnels, you know how fast and easy the experience is there with the right party setup.

The worst part is when you actually get a killer party going and someone has to leave, 9 times out of 10 its your WHM or one of your BLM's which will probably take you about an hour or so to find a replacement and get him/her down there. People really don't have any patience, no matter what kind of XP you were making.

All in all, if people were more educated about the Korroloka Tunnels and would stop to compare time/xp compared to the Dunes, it'd be a more NA populated area. Who cares if you have to walk 20 minutes back to Bastok! You'd most likely be sitting in a party with some rank 2 MNK/RDM who thinks its a good pair because he can do damage and still have white and black magic, getting about one hill lizard every 5 minutes since it's so damn overcamped there now anyways!

I had 2 NAs come from Valkurm Dunes. They were glad some people actually were smart enough to make a party there AND consider them. They didnt stay long but at least they were back in Bastok and away from Valkurm.

Walking isnt so bad, especially when you see the XP I got in Korrolaka Tunnel. I started at 14 2 days ago, Im 25 now. Fastest XPing Ive done.

And I didnt use a WHM all along. Sorry little fellas, you werent needed.

I'm kind of glad the masses don't know about Korrokola, I leveled from 14-19 there the other day as BRD (I deleveled because some one trained the Sea Horror down to the bottom of the boat while I was riding it -_-;) and my party had to go to the back by the Altepa zone since there was 2 pts in the front making it hard to get the kind of exp that's possible there.

The problem i have encounterd in Bastok when trying to get a party is JP wont invite NA. So therefor they rule korrolaka tunnel. I could have created a awesome party last week but i was turned down by at least 15 JP.

I will tell ya, Korrolaka Tunnel is completely awesome for low lvls and i hope it doesnt get overwhelled by pts for a long time, We were in Valk yesturday, ya know the usual as my 13 Blm til the leader said, HEY LETS GO TO Korrolaka! I immediately was like "OK!! I NEED THE EXP!" So we made our long journey for the tunnel, We finnally got there and everyone lvled all the way up to 18 there, truly, undoubtly, sweet. It is great taking a good pt with subs there, and everyone of course should know whats goin on ^^. So to answer the question is Korrolaka Tunnel JP only? HELL NO! We need to start ownin that b****! muhahah

Yeah if you ain't a loud mouth and not a ****, and also let them lot for treasure then you will go a hell of a long way with Japanese parties. There's nothing bad about lotting, other than if you don't lot you miss out. It's all random in the end anyhow, so just join in. I love JP parties, not because of the experience (well maybe), but it's just more fun that other parties. I can see why the Japanese are avoiding VD like the plague, that place is full of annoying people ; ; most of the time.

The area isn't JP only, though I know what you mean. The vast, painful majority of NA players who don't have a variety of game experience are Lemmings™, pure and simple. "Oh, you're level X? Go here." "Okay." We're led to beleive that there is only one, maybe two areas to XP in at given points in time, when it is plainly false. Older players will know this, and seek out those better aareas, due to lesser population, better drops, and in general, higher quality of players. It's much the same for JP players, who've as a whole, played far longer than we have.

Have you ever XPed in Sea Serpent Grotto? Eldieme Necropolis? Beaucedine Glacier? Buburimu Peninsula?

Most people will say "No" to questions relating to off-path XPing, and have they done it. It's very unfortunate, since everyone gets so focused on that lovely "big" XP count per monster, then completely forgets that they're netting exactly -3 Chains during the pull periods..

Lol miao found these boards too.

My question is why people don't go to the maze more often. From 12-15 is great XP then you can move over to Bubu for great XP again and no competition for mobs. Well except for from farmers. You think it's hard getting a party for the tunnel? Try to put one together for Bubu.

Yeah ><

I had a party that started in Tahongi Canyon once, and we went to Bubu after, things where going great, camped by the outpost, no compitition what so ever. Then people slowly started leaving for RL junk like work (Damn real life interfering with important gaming stuff)

Anyway, we tried to replace, but guess what, everyone was in Valkrum *cringe*

Guess where we ended up......

And Korroloka Tunnel is getting worse though, it used to be great, with little compition. Now the compitition is getting feirce, too many parties, I have started to notice that more people are going to what I have used as alternative leveling areas, that normally would support one or maybe two parties great. But once you get too many, EXP goes buh bye due to lack of chains. Beetles in Sarumounge Champian <sp?> and the Zone leading to Norg where great, but now also are becoming heavily camped.

What we should be doing is keeping these places secret from the other NA. LOL JK. But, consider this. Undoubtedly the best way to make EXP is to form a truly good static party. I know there hard to come by, specially in the lower levels, and making one yourself is another feat, but putting a good one together will pay of immensley in the long run, specially if everyone can play 2-3 hours a night. What all of us NA players should be doing is following suite of what the Japanese players have done: form statics. Dont think they got to level 75 without them. I'm sure all of you know this, but I dont see it happening enough, although I am pleased to see lots of "Looking to form a Static Party" on this server. Keep up the good work. :)

This game will always have the Random Party element. But if your truly bent on getting those levels as quickly as possible, form a good static, you'll be doing us all a big favor.
