Soren, I don't understand your rationale for leaving. It's not like the people of Garuda are gone. If anything, we have the chance to discover more funny and interesting people. What if we find an Anna clone? Who would want to miss that?!

I don't think that people are really bashing Soren. To me, it seemed to just turn into an off topic word play directed at each other.

Sure, I may be making light of this thread; but face it, his "reason" for leaving sounds rather silly to those of us capable of inferring context clues and editing a bookmarked URL, and is begging to be made light of. If you're getting tired of the place, just come out and say so.

Ok, now this is going to be my final post.

Clarification: I was merely referring to how often I checked the boards with my bookmark comment. There's no issue with changing the URL in the bookmark, that has no bearing on anything.

As to 'filthy Lakshmians', I have no qualms with the people of Lakshmi. I had gotten very comfortable with the people who posted on Garuda forums, and even before the merge a lot of the posters that I got along with the best had already stopped using the forums. Being shoved into a group of strangers, along with the fact that I haven't played the game since November and don't plan on returning, plus a lot of people already gone, all signaled to me that it was time for me to move on.

I've been playing off and on for 5.5 years, and been posting for almost 5 of those years. (First post was May 12th, '05) FFXI was important to me for a lot of reasons, especially when I first started, but my time has come.

Martel has been one of my best friends for almost 3 years, if I'm not mistaken. There's no 'fling', or anything like that; we've helped each other through rough parts in our lives, and she's just as important to me as any 'rl' friend.



Hopefully I've made light of my "reason" for leaving. If it still doesn't make sense to you, no offense, this post had nothing to do with you. I just wanted to let a few people know how to contact me in case they wanted to. Doesn't make much sense to me to derail a goodbye thread, but what happened, happened.

So, in closing, I wish all of you a good time playing FFXI, and using this message board.
