Player Warning: DrenpFollow

I responded to a shout from what I guessed to be a Japanese player, due to his weird english, about a Byakko's Haidate his shell was merc'ing out, among other sky drops. He was a bit difficult to communicate with but wanted me to trade the gil then meet his linkshell up in sky. I don't normally deal with the Japanese and I know they handle alot of things differently than NA shells so I reluctantly agreed to it.

I was in communication with him for another 30 min or so and his linkshell was apparently gathering in Whitegate to get a teleport and sky warp to do 4 Byakko pops and if no drop then the LS would return the gil. I'm aware this was a less than intelligent move, but I just woke up and as I've been looking for a merc shell for a while it seemed like a good idea.

Anyways, I placed a GM call, not entirely sure what can be done about it but even if I get nothing back I just wanted to warn all you guys about this guy and make sure that you nor your friends have any dealings with him. I'm pretty sure it was just someones LS mule, because god help me if I knew his main I'd make his life alot harder if I could.^^

He forgot to include the important part. The guy logged off while Wobi was headed to sky. Clearly a scam.

Doubt it was even a LS mule, but for the benefit of the doubt, fine. Waiting on if the GM will be able to help Wobi out at all or not. Sucks cause he really wants Byakko's Haidate. I told him personally I wouldn't trade anyone gil until I saw a drop. GM will ban me if I try to steal it without paying, so there's your insurance. Plus real non-mule characters have reputations.

At the very least, take heed of this warning cause that guy was shouting in R. Fields and in Jeuno. I wouldn't be surprised if he tries this again on another account.

... Ouch. Doubt you'll be getting any of that gil back, sorry.

Did you talk to the other members of his linkshell? Because as of right now it just sounds like a lone player (or maybe even an RMT because of so many level 1 characters over different servers) that acted on his own.

Sorry to hear this, Wobi. I was wondering about this type of scenario myself having camped Faf recently to merc N. head.(not that any HNMLS would steal someone's gil like that)

I just assumed that if you could prove an agreement was reached, it was treated like a contract and that breaking that contract was punishable(and you could get your gil back).

Just by scanning FFXIAH for BH, it looks like Blacklion and Hixxyz have merc prices up for it.(although BL does so many events I doubt you'll see those Haidates any time soon)

I hope you didn't pay 3.5m to this guy... :(
