Wanting to reactivate account but few questionsFollow

Hello,

I use to play as Boromir on the Garuda server. My last day was around June 11 2009. From what I read and understand garuda was merged with Lakshmi. Id like to reactivate and play again but have a few questions.

1. Will I be able to keep my original character and play on the new server?

2. I still have FFXI installed on my computer but when i tried logging back on, i was getting an error message about lm-17 and being banned? I havent been on the game on forever, so how is it I got banned when I never cheated or got banned before ever? I assume I will need to contact SE support?

3. I no longer have any information regarding to my account. I still know my ID and password but that is it. Will this present a problem?

1. Yes but the name my need to be changed if it clashes with someone else's (see 2)

2. If you got LM-17 it means you've been banned for something, you would of had an email telling you about it, if i remember correctly you can not have LM-17 removed from your account but your best bet would be to contact SE Support and find out whats going on.

3. You have your login and password I'm pretty sure you need it a bit more information about the account to contact SE but I'm not 100% sure. Give them a ring and see how much you can remember.

Thank you for the reply and help Nuker. I went ahead and gave them a call.

To no suprise, SE customer support sucks as bad as it did in the past. The reason I got the temp ban was because of credit card issues or something according to the rep. He said he couldnt elaborate anymore. He also couldnt unlock my account because I didnt have my CC info from 6+ years ago. I tried explaining to him I got a new card since it expired long ago but that wasnt good enough.

So he said the only thing he can do is send an email with a pdf with a notary of some sort. I then have to take it to a post office to get it notarized or some crap. Mail it off and await a response in approximately 2 weeks give or take. I already know where this is going and I've read the nightmare stories in the past with people having to go through this. It would take them months to get it resolved.

I was really excited to get back on and play again but im not going through this nonsense. This was just a reminder of many reasons why i quit the game to begin with. A complete hassle to just reactivate an account. No other online game I've played does this to you.

Would it be any easier if you deleted the account and started from scratch?? New ID, new CC and all that?

Hey Rigothic,

I could if I wanted to but I see no point in doing so. I had two 75 jobs and a few other 50+ jobs. I just couldnt start from scratch again considering it took me a long time before and with the new FF coming out soon I might as well wait for that.

I really wanted to come back on and play again and start were I left off before. See old friends and do alot of things I enjoyed...but oh well.
