ABC is remaking the classic alien series "V". It airs on November 3rd. Link

I absolutely loved this show when I was a kid. Lizard people, human skin suits and mice consumption. What more could you ask for?

Maybe a good remake.

Here's to hoping ABC pulls through.

It airs on my birthday.

I was never a fan of the movies though. My parents loved them.

Also, here.

Oh ya, heaven forbid I point out a thread with more info and opinions of the movies and potential series. I'm so awful.

I watched the first thirty minutes and gave up. One of the reasons I enjoyed the original so much was because of how cheesy and campy it was. This just felt overly serious and felt kind of meh. I'll probably watch the second half later and possibly amend my post but as of now, I have low hopes for the show.

I just finished watching it and I am excited about it. I never caught the original but heard all about it. Looks to be a pretty good sci-fi show in prime time.

They should have put off revealing them as lizard-men until later on in the series. The Pilot was too soon.

Other than that, it wasn't bad.

I thought the same thing. Reveal the secret way too early.

Wasn't much of a secret if you had watched the original...granted I was young but with SciFi (I refuse to use their new bastardized name..which sounds like acronym for an STD), playing the original series, I took the time to rewatch them and my god. As a kid I remember the series being a bit more freaky..and less campy as already stated.

Anyway, my initial thoughts on the show are that they have a good plot going, and the newer special effects should be a nice touch to update it. However, I'm still unclear if they will be able to pull out the drama and plot twists that the original had. I still vividly remember the twins that were born..and that the human looking one..wait, if you didnt watch it you dont care.

I hope this series delivers.

Yeah, I thought they let the cat out of the bag way too early. Did they do that in the original? It's been so long, I can't remember.

I'll probably watch it some more, but yeah - that kind of turned me off.

I remember the lizard baby from the original as the full on reveal & everything else "hinted at".

IIRC, and it's been a while they ran the original in 2 different "mini" series. The reveal came at the end of the 1st one. So you had to stew for a couple of weeks until the new one started. However, it was 20+ years ago so it's a little hazy. I do remember that a couple of dudes had infiltrated the mother ship, and saw Diana eat a guinea pig.

It certainly wasn't terrible. It felt very rushed.

I was expecting a 2 hour series premier.

I will watch it because it's V, and I like Lizard people that eat bunnies.

Meh, this was pretty terrible.

The only thing that could have saved it for me would be Al Franken popping up in alien land.

Rushed, that indeed is the word for it.

I didn't like it much, it's all pretty much out of the blue, hardly any characters, zero involvement and I just wonder if they're going to wrap everything up in three or so episodes. If they keep up this pace and shallowness, it won't be hard to do.
