Turned on my TV this morning, and there was a "DC Super Hero Girls Super Hero High School" show...

Teenage versions of every female DC Character. Twittering, and Facebooking, and playing Candy Crush. And Super Girl Fangirling all over Wonder Woman.

I can't imagine this is what certain groups of people imagined when they wanted more females active in this genre. I can't imagine this is what anyone wanted for the genre...

I dunno about that. I'd watch a few episodes. Though it'd be better if they were in a Japanese high school going through thinly veiled metaphors for lesbian relationships.

Also, school uniforms.

But that's all girls are interested in. I'm surprised they weren't at a slumber party playing Mystery Date and ranking the capes by butt.

Reportedly Bryan Singer is planning to step away from the X-Men movies to work on different projects, but says not on a permanent basis. Dwayne Johnson also officially confirms he'll star in Shane Black's Doc Savage. He says, and I quote, "Doc was physically and mentally trained from birth by his father and a team of scientists to become the perfect human specimen with a genius level intellect. His heightened senses are beyond comprehension. He can even identify a woman's perfume from half a mile away. He is literally the master of everything. But here's the #1 reason I'm excited to become Doc Savage ... HE'S A F*CKING HILARIOUS WEIRDO!" I'm okay with this.

Apparently Captain Hydra has a knowyourmeme page now. It says that the 4chan people were "disgruntled" when making them but they weren't. I was there, it was actually a really fun thread.

FX is pushing Legion to an eight episode first season, which I can't imagine it going beyond that but we'll see. Suicide Squad is Twitter's most anticipated summer movie apparently. And Hayley Atwell wants more Agent Carter, and I just want more Hayley Atwell.

Some more rumors from Thor: Ragnarok says they'll be drawing influence from the Planet Hulk books, which I guess we can speculate that the Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum for those keeping track) will have some kind of arena-esque gladiator fight with Hulk and Thor throwing down. Would be neat after the first Avengers where Hulk just randomly punches Thor during the end of the pseudo-montogue fight scene. Rumor is Hulk will be sporting his shoulder-armor from the run, Thor will have a shaved skull and Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) will have war paint. Rumors from the Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol 2 claims that Elizabeth Debicki will be the main antogonist of the movie, playing Ayesha ... who also goes by Her, Paragon, and Kismet. She was created by the Enclave, a group of scientists set on creating a perfect genetic being. This one means that either (a) she was the being that hatched in GotG 1 in Collector's collection that was thought to be Adam Warlock or (b) that it was Warlock in the cocoon and Paragon is the second creation who is hunting Warlock because she believes him to be her "perfect mate." A is pretty self explanitory, but B means we'll also get Warlock in the movie which would be great since eventually Adam plays a pretty big role in the Infinity Gauntlet story that we're being lead to.

Melissa Benoist, in a statement that is surprising, says that Kara and Barry Allen are too similar to ever get together. Finally an un-ship. Smiley: thumbsup Doesn't mean it won't happen, but at least we have that. Barry on the other hand thinks they'd be a good match, but considering how often he screws things up like the timeline I think we'll defer to Kara on this one.

Hugh Jackman sporting an unkempt beard as he's arriving on set to film some scenes in Wolverine 3, giving more credence to the rumor that it'll be based on Old Man Logan. Or Mel Gibson.

Susanne Bier, who directed The Night Manager, is on a short list to direct the next (few?) Bond movies. Also rumored that Hiddleston is being considered for the lead role.

Bryan Singer says that Mystique could get a solo movie, proving that he's another self-absorbed moron director that doesn't pay attention to the complaints about his movies. He also says it could happen with or without Jennifer Lawrence. Better without, no doubt, but again the character itself is pretty much the low point of the recent movies so why they'd bother is beyond the scope of good taste. It's a movie that is literally set up to fail. In more directorial talk, rumor has it that Brie Larson is in talks to cast as Carol Danvers in the future Captain Marvel movie. Kind of makes sense, considering the rest of the Community cast have been showing up in Marvel movies.

Apparently the Batman v Superman "Ultimate Edition" Blu-Ray is considered news in some places. Most places being the same ones that were excited the last two times there was a Zack Snyder trailer released.

I thought the Night Manager was a good, short, story. I liked that ending. So I think the director going on to doing a Bond movie is OK.

I think a series called Outcast is starting on Cinemax tomorrow. Supposed to be based on another Kirkman comic? I kept seeing the previews before and after Game of Thrones. Something Exorcist like?

Kind of. The show was optioned like a year before the first issue even came out. It sounds like it was sold based solely on Kirkman's reputation with The Walking Dead show and not actual content. I'll probably dvr the episodes.

Remember how one of the big complaints about Man of Steel and Dawn of Justice was all the amateurish religious symbology? Well apparently they learned their lesson as four potential titles for the Justice League movie have been released! Justice League: United, Justice League: Angels and Demons, Justice League: Gods Among Us, and Justice League: Gods Among Men. I'm guessing someone doesn't understand that doubling down is a bad idea when you've already hit 22.

So there were rumors of a Arrow/Flash/Supergirl series of cross over episodes. And then there was talk of it being a Musical. And I thought... NPH Music Meister?

But then the actor behind Arrow said "No!"

Yeah, Amell doesn't want to do a singing episode mainly because it is the "wrong tone" for the show. But considering how they ripped off the same Dark Knight Returns scene twice, blew up a city with absolutely no repercussions to anyone and then made a bunch of nukes just magically disappear I think a slight change of tone could help. And it's easy to write. Just like you said, bring in NPH as the Music Meister and have Amell be the only one that doesn't sing.

Michel Barbieri, from "Little Men" (I have no idea) and Timmy in "The Dark Tower," is in talks to join Tom Holland, Robert Downey Jr., Michael Keaton, Zendaya and more in Marvel Studios and Sony's "Spider-Man: Homecoming." He looks like another Disney Channel starlet, and I'd be more concerned if it wasn't for Holland and Civil War.

John Boyega is riding his fifteen minutes full throttle, and has landed a lead role in "Pacific Rim 2," as the son of Idris Elba's character. And presumably lots of mecha and kaiju fights which is always a plus.

In DC news, Superman is apparently being cast for two episodes in the next Supergirl season, and there's even more management shakeup with their movies which would be more exciting if any of that news involved outright firing Zack Snyder.

Following up The Killing Joke, DC is animating Justice League Dark. All I really know about it is that it's the supernatural characters like Constantine and Zantanna dealing with, well, the supernatural stuff that goes bump in the night that the regular Justice League wasn't suited to deal with.

Josh Brolin says he'd be willing to give Jonah Hex another try, and that playing Thanos makes him nervous and requires imagination. In other words, standard Hollywood talk. Also apparently Fuller House is drawing in bigger crowds than Walking Dead and Empire. I guess it's pretty amazing what pure nostalgia bait can do.

Preacher came and went pretty much like the first episode did. Cassidy stole the show again.

Another clue to the mystery of Sharon Stone's casting. She'll play a "superhero" and that somehow "heat" is involved in her powerset. Superhero still keeps Janet Van Dyne on the table, as in the first statement she said it was a "wee" role, and while not exactly heat, she does have her stings that could loosely be described as such. It's a stretch, but there's something there.

Speaking of casting, Norman Reedus says he'd be up for starring as Ghost Rider. "Hell yeah. It would be a blast. Do I get a skull face that’s on fire and all that stuff? F*ck yeah. I’m down" to be exact. I don't think Johnny Blaze, but he'd certainly be a good Danny Ketch. Would also be neat to get a Nick Cage cameo.

I'm really trying to like Preacher, but they really need to speed things up a bit. If by the end of the next episode nothing of substance still hasn't happened, I think I may give up on it.

Oh, there's definitely some sort of baiting going on there.

I watched all of Fuller House. I didn't think it was that bad. Not the worst of some recent reboots they have done of shows I watched as a kid.

I'm stuck in a hotel again, so I haven't watched many of the shows I normally do (at least, those still airing). I didn't watch Preacher yet, traveled early Monday morning, so I missed out on a few Sunday night shows. And hotel cable sucks. Plus I still play FFXIV and patch 3.3 came out so I'm enjoying some new content in that.

Edit:
I did pick up a discount copy of the Rick and Morty Season 2 Bluray from a local mall here while exploring. Rick and Morty is always good to turn on and watch a few random episodes.

Three episodes of Preacher and it's pretty much "Cassidy Shenanigans and Uninteresting Stuff: The Show." I genuinely laughed when the angels spent like two minutes getting prepared to assault the church and then Cassidy just ran them over.

Gotham is axing Clare Foley's Poison Ivy and casting an older actress for an expanded role for the character for season 3. Also director James Wan says he's excited to subvert Aquaman's "superhero joke status," which I guess means no talking to Jamacian crabs and retarded sharks.

This could probably go into the games forum, but since it's Marvel, I'm going to leave it here. The E3 trailer for the upcoming PS4 Spiderman game. Personally, I think the graphics are a bit too good for the current PS4, so it'll probably only look that good on the updated console.

I'm a little concerned over white bits that aren't the eyes of the costume, but it's supposedly an alt-universe story I can overlook it. Of course, I'm retarded for Spider-Man so that's just pleasant sounding rationalization as I'd pick it up anyway. Also supposedly going to have more Peter Parker-esque sections, which I imagine means more along the lines of the detective parts from the Arkham games, which is always a plus. Speaking of the Spider, rumor is Donald Glover is in talks to join the cast in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Beyond that nothing, but speculation and clickbait is in high gear claiming everything from possibly The Prowler to J Jonah Jameson to Miles Morales.

Arrow is bringing in Rick Gonzalez from Mr Robot to play a vigilante named Wild Dog, whose description reads a lot like Punisher. I don't think it'll save the show from Felicity, but who knows. Also on the CW, Nick Zano from Minority Report will be brought in to play a classic Justice Society character Citizen Steel, who is so strong that he has to wear a special armor to keep from, I don't know, destroying the world accidentally. Along with Hourman that was introduced during the end of the season finale, I imagine they're chosen to help budgetting matters now that Supergirl is in the mix as well. And speaking of CW, Supergirl finds it's Superman in Tyler Hoechlin from Everybody Wants Some!

James Wan is apparently directing everything next year, as he's got another movie on the horizon. The Nun, named after the Nun from Conjuring 2 to show up in her Marilyn Manson solo movie.

Sounds like the new Star Trek movies will need to find a new Chekov, as the actor died in a car crash. I don't recall him being very prominent in the movies, beyond the forced fake Russian accent.

Apparently he was hit by his car as it came free from what ever break/parking was set and rolled down into him pinning him between a gate and the car? Had to suck...

And in absolutely bad taste I just can't help myself from pointing out that he was the voice of Clumsy Smurf ...

In the world of rumors:
New Doctor Strange Synopsis wrote:
Marvel’s Doctor Strange follows the story of the talented neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a tragic car accident, must put ego aside and learn the secrets of a hidden world of mysticism and alternate dimensions. Based in New York City’s Greenwich Village, Doctor Strange must act as an intermediary between the real world and what lies beyond, utilizing a vast array of metaphysical abilities and artifacts to protect the Marvel cinematic universe.
New Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 Synopsis wrote:
Set to the backdrop of "Awesome Mixtape #2," Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" continues the team's adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill's true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes' aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand.
Since Yondu and Nebula are both returning, I imagine they're the old foes becoming new allies referenced ... you know, assuming it's not just clickbait my dumb ass fell for.

Three more kids added to Spider-Man: Homecoming, Isabella Amara, Jorge Lendeborg Jr. and J.J. Totah. Presumably as more high school friends.

Hannibal Buress, best known for using a credit card to buy a sandwich, brought in to Spider-Man: Homecoming. While they're basically the same age, I could see him as Robbie Robertson and Donald Glover as his son Randy. Also in casting news is Gotham hires Jamie Chung to be Valeria Vale, who is Vickie Vale's aunt.

Lots of Justice League news today. First, instead of being a two parter it's been made a single movie. Though realistically that doesn't mean much since it is just a name change and still the same number of movies. Next, they say they learned their lesson and the movie will be tonally lighter. While most speculated it'd be Darkseid, the movie villain will be his uncle General Steppenwolf causing trouble for the League, which is hinted in the BvS Ultimate Collection. And Parademons will play a role as well, probably a montage "League vs Army" scene where the group finally works together. William Dafoe's character has been revealed as "Vulko," a loyal servant to Aquaman who basically lead Talks-To-Fish-Guy to reclaim his Atlantean Throne. Another probably here, in that Vulko gets FishLad to put away his prejudices of the surface folks to work with the Justice League. And finally for now, while reporters were on set Batffleck told reporters that a solo Batman movie won't happen until he's completely satisfied with the script. Which, considering the scripts he's accepted to work for could go either way.

Sounds like WB is finally taking the Shared Universe Franchise seriously, but I think there are still some troubling things to consider here. For one, Terrio wrote the movie to be a two parter to end on a cliffhanger, so they're going to condense six~ish hours of content down to three? I mean, there's been leaks of the content that was cut from Batman v Superman that they're putting into the Ultimate Collection and while I don't feel it saves the movie (in fact it's more like Asura Wrath's "If You Want The Real Ending, Spend More Money!" DLC scam to me) it undeniably does make the movie more whole, and this is twice as much content? Also, as much as I'm appreciative they're toning down the darkness, we don't really need a second MCU.

Bryan Cranston confirmed he'll be playing Zordon in the Power Rangers movie.

I just remembered that the Voltron reboot was on Netflix. I started watching that and have enjoyed it. One positive in my mind is that they aren't using that 3D CGI look that most of the recent show remakes have.

The best part of that is one of Cranston's earlier roles was as voices of some of the monsters on the original Power Rangers. I think including him moves the movie up from "accidentally watching it on TV" to "might Red Box/Netflix it." I still can't really see myself going to the theaters for it.

Original, and uncontested best Wonder Woman Lynda Carter confirmed as the President of the US on "Supergirl," which I guess means either the universes aren't connected (yet) or she's also president in the rest of the CWverse. Also hilarious Walking Dead statistic Chad Coleman to show up in Arrow as a gangster named Tobias Church. And to use that to lead in oh so seamlessly, the next box set for Walking Dead with have the uncut Negan introduction, which should show up a few hours later on Youtube. It'll be nice, but just make it more painful when you realize he still won't talk like that next season. Also to note that the final scene where Big Red a mysterious victim bought it to Lucille was filmed multiple times so even the cast don't really know who the person who dies for next season. So even if I'm wrong, the scene still exists and it'll be on the next Blu-Ray slash Youtube.

A couple more casting choices, one in Abraham Attah from Beasts of No Nation is yet another kid in Spider-Man: Homecoming, which is becoming ridiculously overcrowded at this point. Gotham finds it's adult Poison Ivy in Maggie Geha, so I'm kind of interested in their explanation of how a thirteen year old turned into a nineteen year old between seasons.

Apparently the ScyFy prequel Krypton is not only still a thing, but has a character list for the series available. Jor-El's father, Seg-El, and his father Ter-El and his father Val-El are listed to show up, along with Lyta and Alura Zod, and a Dev-Em. Show is supposedly set two generations before Krypton went all exploded and landed mostly on Earth. Seriously, there was a lot of kryptonite of varying color and size showing up throughout the years.
