Another DC Universe film comes out tomorrow: Constantine, City of Demons
Is it a movie or a series? IMDB says five episodes, but the cover says movie. I mean, it's Matt Ryan so ultimately irrelevant and it'll be added to my collection.

Turns out it was a CW Seed online series, being released as a movie. Set in the Justice League Dark universe. Looks like it was 5 episodes about 7 minutes long each. The movie is those 5 episodes, plus some extra. Internet says it is a similar situation to the Vixen movie (which... I did not follow). But doesn't look to be longer than about an hour or so.

Edit:
Box says 90 minutes. Guess a lot more was added than just 5x7min episodes.

Edit2:
Solid movie. A couple good lines "Who the hell do you think I am? Benedict Bloody Cumberbatch?, a significant amount of gore. Though the pacing in the middle was rushed. Ancient Aztec Death-God is used to kill all the demons without even introducing them. Largely unimportant to the overall arc, but still a bit disappointing. Ended well though. Worth a watch.

Flash? 10 minutes in and Nora is creeping me out. I've only seen her actress in one thing that I know of. And it was Black Sails. And I haven't heard her talk in anything but that. This high pitched girly voice may be her real voice(dunno)? But it feels so fake, done to make a 34 year old sound like a little girl.

Also: Not sure if this was posted yet or not.
Harvey Birdman: Attorney General

A special, airing this weekend. Unfortunately it doesn't sound like it's a whole new series/season. Just a one time thing.

More Edit:
Read this morning about the possibility of James Gunn moving on to DC after Disney didn't care for his little boy jokes. Suicide Squad 2. Seems the perfect place for DC to try his style of writing and directing. Though I'm not sure how much it would improve the DCU live action film venture as a whole.

Suicide Squad 2 is probably the right place in DC for Gunn to go, seeing as how the first movie was just an Earth-bound GoTG1 anyway. Dave Bautista is already tweeting about wanting to join, which is a really great example of loyalty. He'd make a pretty neat Bane.

Ralph was great in the Flash season premiere, but ultimately irrelevant to the goings-on. He really should be shifted over to Legends of Tomorrow. As far as the rest of the episode, pretty standard "Allen ruins the timeline" introduction. The Henshin-a-Go-Go with the ring outfit was amusing, but that cowl still looks funny huge. I think it's to protect his hair so they don't have to keep messing with it between scenes? Or he's going to time travel and mess with Fred Flintstone.

Now, Black Lightning? That was a premiere worth watching. Definitely the VIP of the CW cape shows. Smiley: thumbsup Hope they never crossover with the rest, though one of the daughters will probably find her way onto the Waverider eventually.

Ruby Rose (and a lot of photoshop) as Batwoman.

Pet Cemetery trailer. I don't like cats, and the trailer certainly doesn't change my opinion of them, which obviously is the point. I like Lithgow, but he's no Herman Munster. I like the trailer. The creepy kids are a nice touch.

Apparently Venom did well enough that there's talk that Morbius will start filming soon, and rumor is that Kraven will be loosely based on "Kraven's Last Hunt," which both without Spider-Man and it being a first movie it's basically like starting your franchise with Superman Dies and without Doomsday.

I caught up on Black Lightning. I'm not as interested in the father/daughter relationship and family drama side of things. Attack on the Albino at the end was more interesting. I thought that his female bodyguard / henchmen would turn out to be not dead after though. Some sort of healing meta. Kind of dull if they just drop her like that.

Haven't finished Gifted.

I did watch South Park, because it's only 20 minutes or so. Mr Hanky blamed Ambien for racist/homophobic tweets.

That was amusing all of one time, but true to form South Park just kind drove that joke into the ground.

Aladdin teaser. Familiar chords, Agrabah, and what I can only assume is Iago. No sign of Will Smith, which is probably the teaser's most saving grace.

I'm not sure how I feel about Fresh Prince Genie. But I guess the issue is the voice I'm hearing in my head. Even the animated TV series, which I enjoyed as a kid, I recall the voice actor sounding close enough to Williams. Like the actor who does Po in the Kung Fu Panda series who does a good Jack Black.

I got around to seeing Venom. It wasn't bad, but it felt like a very rushed origin story in the last half. And the CGI for the last fight felt like I was watching a Tool stop-motion animation music video.

The Hellboy trailer leaked the other day, and it's not bad. A lot of people complaining about it being humorous, but that's to be expected.

The only thing I watched last night was the Harvey Birdman special. And it was... dull. It was just too "word for word" satire. Funny enough but they didn't even try to make it clever. Nothing subtle at all about it.

I took my parents and grandmother out to dinner last night, my mom says "David Tennant has a comedy on HBO tonight!". In my mind I'm thinking "Tennant does stand-up?" Only to find out that David Tennant and Jennifer Garner have a comedy show that started last night on HBO called "Camping". I pressed Record just cause Tennant. I haven't watched it, but the trailer didn't look all that interesting. Who knows, maybe the two will work together. But they are definitely not what comes to mind when I think "Half hour comedy series on HBO".
