Questions by a Potentially Returning Player :: Final Fantasy XI

I played FFXI from 2004-2006 and briefly in 2008 on Titan. I am considering coming back as I've seen the level cap raised to 95, and see a possiblity of it going to 99 and have some questions.

1) I noticed Titan was merged into Pheonix, are many Titan players still around?

2) How camped would the NM that drops the Joyuese be? Would I have to compete against 4-5 people for Charby now, or would I be likely to find him uncamped for days?

Lot's of people from Titan. I'm about sick of the Titan>Phoenix shouts in besieged though.

Nope Charybdis is never really uncamped for days. You might get away with one day alone but usually there at least one other person camping him or dropping by to see if he is up. I got got mine several days ago. I camped him for one day straight got ToD and came back 2 other people there, got out-claimed on that day. Got ToD again and came back to no one there and him popping shortly after.

I remember that a lot of people on Titan made a big deal out of that. When Titan got it's first besieged loss, IIRC it was one of only 2 servers to have been undefeated...

... and when they were defeated they cried like babies.

I don't know what was up with that. "WHO CARES!" was my reply, and that was met with more whining about the loss.
