New player here... :: Final Fantasy XI

Hi, I just finished downloading the game, and tried making a new character. I've been reading these forums and saw that this server has a new LS starting up for new and old players to take on all of the content. I am a total noob to this game, and when I was to select a server neither Titan or the future Phoenix were on the list. Can somebody let me know how I can go about selecting one of these servers, if at all possible at this time.

You picked a bad time to try and join Titan. Our server is going to be merged with Phoenix server on the 16th of March. SE isn't allowing new characters on any of the servers targeted for merger.

Do you know if I will be able to join you guys after the merge, I can wait until then. I'm currently getting a feel for the game on another server, but I am very interested in the activity on the soon to be Phoenix.

I am not a sackholder, but as a member of Reformation--a LS for new and returning players on Titan (soon to be Phoenix)--I know that we're excited about the merger as an opportunity to gain new members. As for character creation, I believe you can make new characters on Phoenix following the merge, so there should be no issues there.
