The wait for the next major version update for Final Fantasy XI will soon be over! Perhaps to coincide with the upcoming gift-giving season, Square Enix has announced that the December version update is slated to arrive in mid-December. In addition to the hotly anticipated level cap increase to 99 and the job adjustments that will accompany it, this update will also see the next chapter of the popular Voidwatch battle system, new Walk of Echoes battlefields, and much more!

The forthcoming version update is scheduled to shimmy down the chimneys of good boys and girls in the middle of December.

While the level cap increase to 99 may be the most widely discussed implementation, that's not the only thing happening in Vana'diel! New job abilities and spells will of course accompany the increase, but players can also look forward to the third chapter of Voidwatch, new walks in the Walk of Echoes, and improvements to the game's interface.
