At the following time, we performed a FINAL FANTASY XI version update. This update was not accompanied by server maintenance. Usual play may continue for FINAL FANTASY XI. Thank you. *The client software was updated at this time. The client update will begin once you connect to FINAL FANTASY XI. Please follow the instructions that appear on your screen. [Date & Time] Jul. 13, 2004 2:00 (PDT) [Affected Services] FINAL FANTASY XI [Update Details] The following known issues were addressed: - An issue concerning players being disconnected from the game due to an error in the network code. - An issue concerning certain types of equipment not being displayed (PlayStation(R)2 only). - An issue involving the Gamepad Configuration Tool's "Directional Control Devices" settings, whereby allocating the same buttons to do multiple operations can, in certain cases, render the menus unusable during gameplay. (Windows version only)

Hasnt helped me at all, ever since the last big patch ive had days where everything is just fine, and days where i d/c every 20minutes, to where i could time it and tell my pt that id be d/c and to wait a couple minutes and id be back, and the patch now didnt help it one bit -_-

If you have dial-up, most of the disconnecting is 50% becuz of ur connection, not the game... Try playing another game online, it'll do the same as in FFXI. I have Cable so im not too worried about d/c

I rarly get DCed. I've seen a few of my LS Members get disconnected, as for me I may have been DCed twice in 3months. :)

By saying this, that means I will be DCed all the time now...lol.

Ever since this update it seems I'm getting disconnected more... Hmm. Got disconnected twice in aboue 10 - 20 minutes... Not fun. Was also lagging really really bad for about an hour... Definately not fun (for once I was glad I wasn't getting parties... Which is really scary.)

It's about time they realized the issue was with them. My boyfriend and I called a GM several times about it, since it has only happened since the last big patch. The first thing he proceeded to tell us was that "blah blah blah, these ports must be open to play the game" Copied and pasted from a manual, I'm sure. But we use a proxy server, so we don't even have to deal with a router. In which he went on to say "PlayOnline does not support network only direct connections" which is BS since having a router to set means you have a network~ ^^ We finally got him away from thinking we were n00bs and explained the problem. I'm glad it's supposedly fixed, I got disconnected during BCNM40, and I think it's the one we died in (-__-);; Grrr.

All this update did for me was make it so I will probably never play again, 90 dollars(3 months, PC version, guestimate on price) and 3 months of my life wasted! Yay. GMs are of course, no help. Great jobe SE.

I am no longer getting dc's but I did notice that the items in shops have been filtered down severely.

Dropped about 10 times in the last two nights, haven't dropped in my whole evening of play. Seems fixed from my end.

I'm having connection problems at least every 5 minutes now. If not complete disconnection, Receive hits 0 for a few seconds. Anyone else having this problem... or a solution to it?

I'm still getting disconnected, and it's actually happening more frequently (even in the Jeuno rent-a-room). I'm one of those sad folk on dial-up, but things have generally been ok until these last couple patches. It's frustrating especially since a couple people have died and I've also I've d/c'ed during a Garrison mission (one in which I was promised an item). Hopefully the dial-up issues have or will be addressed as well, or I may need to skip out on parties for the time being.

No disconnects yet! YAY!! I have been getting disconnected within the first two hours I play here recently... after the update today... no disconnects!

I was absolutely certain it was a game issue, having swapped out my network card, router, all the cables, hell I even went as far as to reinstall the game o,o (wasn't going quite as far as to reformat though)
