The time has come--the "Return Home to Vana'diel" campaign has begun! Part I of the "Return Home to Vana'diel" campaign will be available starting today, Apr. 14, 2005. You can also use the free Character Recovery Support service to reunite with long-lost friends! Inform your companions who have left Vana'diel, and you can once again adventure with them! *Important Information -There are certain requirements to recover your character(s). -Due to system congestion at certain times, it may be difficult to access the application form. Can anyone help me out with something, I quit the game about 5 months ago and deleted my character. If I apply for this will my character be right there after I complete this registration form?

You shouldn't have quit in the first place. And what amazes me even more is people who actually DROP their artifact. That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard.

If you need to do stuff in life, just stop playing, don't quit.

So in June there is going to be a Return Home to recover supposedly deleted characters?
I hope so...
And also, if my old character is the same name as my new one, do u think that will pose a problem? I hope not... Someone please answer back with what u think.

When I get to step 2 of the application and click on login, I keep getting this message.
The following errors were found.
Please check your information and try again.
The selected character could not be reactivated.
Possible reasons include:
- PlayOnline maintenance
- FINAL FANTASY XI maintenance
- Connection error

I was trying to reactivate my old Play Online ID from 2003, since I could use a free mule. For the first few days, this didnt work, but now, I got it back.

Too bad I can't really use a character on Ramuh, so I gave out all my stuff for free, I had all these typical WAR stuff from back then, Traveller's Mantle (bought for 10k at that time), all the Kingdom Equipment, tons of Crystals and some money.

Now I got three new friends on the wrong server... ^^ But I told them to come to Allakhazam chat :p

If you were not able to get in because your account wasnt paid for you have to send in $12.95 to the square-enix office with a check or money order. Then you will be able to get your account back.

My friend just got back on this month before the 14th and he got his character back with all his stuff and he stopped play at the end of august. Well I would say it is good to have people back in the game. It isn't that bad lag. Only jeuno is somewhat bad. Wow is so bad for lag and server problems. I would hate it to be like that.

My friend and I both tried for this free month... we had not played in over 7 months.. and it said we were not eligible.. well thats just stupid.. somehow our characters were still around.. and havent played or payed in more than 7 months... they really need to say wtf is up.. 3 months was always the threat to delete your character, lies all lies.. and we are the proof!

Look at the key words there are "and", and "registered information" and the most important one "deleted". If you can get your account working then you aren't eligible. It's only for people who's account info has gone poof and they can't even register their account.

The phase for me and you isn't until June. Then we can have our characters recovered as far back as from January 8, 2004

I have quit twice... The first time I quit I had a character on Alexander... gave all my stuff away, and started over... I quit again on Valefor, and gave all my stuff away. I recovered my Character, No gear though... I don't know of anyone that has quit with all there gear... They usually give it away. 8(

actually. from what it is saying, only people over 3 months inactive can return. that would mean if you quit 6 months ago and you can't reactivate your account because its been too long and your charicter has been deleted then you fill out this app. and submit it to get renewed. it seems cool. its really just a way for SE to get there money comming in from old players agian. lol but still a decient idea

And all I get is "PlayOnline Maintenance" since the start of the Campaign, no matter if I can fill out the application form or not. Quite a congestion >.>
