Fan Festival 2008 is coming! | Enter Allakhazam's Pumpkin Carving Contest!

Category:Templar (EQ2 Subclass)

As per the change of all the classes, you can directly select this class at character creation now (at least as of 2008). Versus the old system at the start of EQ2 retail release where one had to pick a general archetype then complete quests to eventually become your final subclass.

Templar's healing is a reactive based type of healing. This means their heals takes effect when something happens to trigger it. They do still have a few direct healing spells though.

  • 1 small heal
  • 1 large heal
  • 1 group heal

The above are their typical direct heals.

Their traditional reactive heals are:

  • 1 heal spell that gives a target 1 heal per hit for around 5 hits within a 30seconds duration.
  • 1 heal spell that is very slow to cast but as the above, gives 1 heal per hit on the target. This however is an unlimited amount of hits within the 30 second duration.
  • 2 spells that targets an enemy, and gives that enemy a chance to actually heal who they are hitting. The duration I am experiencing is over 1min for my level 48 templar.
  • 1 spell that will heal the whole group when the enemy that you cast it upon dies. The duration is also similar to the above spell, over 1min for my level 48 templar before the chance to heal upon death expires.

There are also a few emergency spells that acts like the above 30 second reactive healing (recipient gets heal whenever they are hit) that are instant cast but have a very long recast time. 900seconds aka 15minutes is the reuse timer. At level 48 my templar has 2 of these emergency insta cast spells.

The templar also has:

  • resurrection as expected (out of combat)
  • an in-combat resurrection
  • also an in-combat GROUP res (have not personally used this yet)
  • a res-sickness free in-combat resurrection that requires one to be within touching distance.

There are many more info on this class, however as I am inexperienced with this game beyond level 48. I will more then likely have inaccurate info above or missing some more strong points of the Templar that will differentiate it from the rest of the healing classes within EQ2. Please help update these empty class description window as new folks who do not know much about this game, will greatly benefit from some knowledge of what roll this class and other classes will offer in the higher level range. Thus helping them make a more intelligent choice to play a class role that they might be happier with down the line.
