EQ:Rampage

  • Rampage is, in effect, a proc. Rampage procs off of the normal attacks made by the mob you are fighting. If that mob isn't hitting anyone, you won't see any rampage messages. Since Rampage is a proc, DEX debuffs and other spells that decrease proc rate lower the rampage rate. Proc-rate is independent of swing speed, so slow does NOT effect rampage rate.

  • Rampage never hits the person who is currently being attacked by the mob. Even if the current tank is also the number one person on the ramp list, he will not be attacked.

  • Attacks from rampage can be blocked, dodged, and parried, like any other attack.

  • Rampage does have a limited range. The range differs from mob to mob, but generally speaking it's considerably longer than max melee. Generally speaking, if the rampage target leaves range rampage will drop to the #2 person on the list, but the primary target will regain ramp as soon as he moves back in range.

  • Rampage ignores line of sight. You can be rampaged through walls, etc.

  • The rampage list is entirely determined by the order that people aggroed the mob. The first person to aggro is first on the list, the second person to aggro is second, and so on. The rampage list is entirely separate from the normal hate list, and is not at all effected by things like jolt/concussion.

  • Only death, zoning, and effects that cause complete mem-wipes reliably alter the rampage list. Even moving out of range for an hour will not remove you from the list. Rampage doesn't hit FD'ed people, but as soon as they stand up they regain their place on their list (unless they've been down long enough to fully lose aggro.)
