Third eye

Third eyes normal cast/duration is 60 seconds. While using Seigan it reduces the cast time/duration to 30 seconds not 30 to 15 like post states. Third eye wears off at the duration weather you take a hit or not. Third eye was basicaly a nearly useless ability until Seigan. Now it has allowed SAM to farm alot more eficiently. Also it is posible to take more attacks directed at you. inother words you can "Tank" although i still dont recomend it. The new third eye stacked with SAeigan is pretty random not like NIN blink which is a certain number of hits iregardless. you could lose seigan on first hit or you could counter, parry, anticipate, every attack directed at you. Way to random for my tastes. Also SAM doesnt have to many abilitys to help hold hate so if you got a SAM tank i hope you got a THF and a good WHM couse SAM gets hit HARD.
IMOLE Carbuncle server 62 SAM and rising.
Seigan Third Eye Recast

The recast on SAM main with Seigan up for Third Eye is 30 seconds, not 15. I' 100% sure on this, as I've blink tanked on SAM with it. It can counter or add extra shadows, I've had up to 6 shadows with it.
sam is a new tank

Since no one else is posting it, i will. Sam is finally the tank they were made to be. this is a free spell with 15 second cool down with the new ability. it has the chance of covering up to 4 attacks, as well as countering. Ninja will not hold a candel to this, especially with /sub war. now the AF glvoes and armor arent useless either. People will be to stupid to notice this right away, but it will sink in that Sam is better at tanking, especailly with there high parry rate.

The recast time is still 60 seconds if SAM is a subjob. Tested on my 58 WAR/SAM. Haven't got Seigan yet for /SAM so not 100% sure on that.

Does this work for multi-hit weapon skills?
Third Eye

Yes... it will save you from 1 of anything physical, without seigan. It does nothing to save you from magic, much like NIN shadows do.

So i'm guessing that it only nulifies melee attacks and not magic attacks?
Cheap blink for pulling

Seems like this would be great for pulling, as it doesn't require a specific subjob (like /nin for Thf or Rng), and doesn't take time to cast.
Sam/Nin

Ok, what if you're a Sam/Nin. Does this ability work with Blink?

I don't see how that can be useful if you are trying to blink tank because you won't have provoke. Samurai was made to have some hate but not too much, and that's why samurai gets good armor, and Third eye was just made so samurai can take a little bit less damage.

PLUS...what does NIN give you? 1. a little more DEX... that's about it because a Great Katana is a two handed weapon so it cannot be dual wielded. Also samurai will lack STR and any other abilities.
You can use SAM/NIN if you really lack DEX bad or if you just want to use Ninjitsu. It's up to you. It's your game, but in my opinion, I wouldn't.

OK sorry I went off topic ^^ I just wanted to get that clear

Not to mention, historically speaking, weren't ninja created specifically to combat Samurai?

Samurai where suppose to live by a very strict code of honor. The ninja was mainly implimented to do tasks that would violate said code of conduct.

No. 'historically' ninja didn't actually do that much. They were basically covert soldiers, most sucessfully used during seiges where they would slip into an enemy's castle, dress as their guards and commit chaos from within. They were also used for assassinations, but there was never any historcially documented case of a sucessful one. It was one of those lore things. Their image gets blown up a lot by fiction.

Obviously. Maybe they're just that good.

This ability is called Third Eye, not "Heart Eye."
Stack??

Does this skill Stack?
RE: Stack??
# Jan 16 2004 at 3:18 AM Rating: Excellent
Assuming you mean "stack with itself", no. The max duration on Third Eye is 1 minute. Therefore, if it isn't activated (by taking a hit) it will wear off by the time it is usable again.
