Walkthrough

It is imperative before beginning the journey to this staging point that you have some way of casting Invisible on yourself, whether through spells or the Prism Powder/ Rainbow Powder medicines.

To begin, zone into Wajaom Woodlands from Al Zahbi using the West Gate at (F-7) and follow the path until you reach (K-7).

  • It is recommended to rent a Chocobo from the Chocobo Rental NPC at (G-7) in Al Zahbi as to shorten the travel time, as well as to avoid aggro.

Alternate method: Zone into Wajaom Woodlands from Aht Urhgan Whitegate using the hidden fortress exit at (G-10)/(H-10), then take the hidden path eastward until you reach (K-7). If you decide to take this route, you will not be able to rent a Chocobo and will be forced to make the journey on foot (unless you have a Chocobo Whistle).

From (K-7), you will find there are two paths leading south, in which case it is recommended to take the eastern one. Upon leaving this path, head southwest until you reach another pathway at (J-9) that leads westward. Follow this path and then immediately head south, making sure to hug the left side of the wall until you come across another path leading south. Staying against the left side of the wall, travel in a southwest direction until you reach (H-12). Once there, take the path at (G-12) until you reach (G-11). After leaving the path, hug the left wall and head westward, making sure to take the hidden path near (G-12). Once you've reached (F-12), hug the northern wall and head west, entering another hidden path that leads out to (E-11). From there, head southwest until you reach the (D-12) entrance to Mamook.

Upon zoning into Mamook, hug the right wall (making sure to not fall down from the ledges) until you reach (G-7)/(H-7). At this point, you can use the Viscous Liquid to give you a Mamool Ja costume effect with a DoT effect. During the course of the costume's effect, you will not be aggroed, but keeping it on for an extended period of time is dangerous, so use at your own risk. Regardless of your decision, head west and hug the left wall, following the path southward, then eastward, until reaching (H-8). From there, head south until reaching a fork, with one ledge leading east and the other pathway leading west. Take the east ledge and then make the first right you come to, following that ledge westward and then southward to (H-10). Follow the west path until you come to a drop off ledge, in which case do not drop off, but take the path west, and then north until coming to another drop off ledge. Do not drop off this ledge either, but take the western path and hug the right wall until zoning out into Bhaflau Thickets.

After zoning out into Bhaflau Thickets, hug onto the left wall until coming to a pathway leading south to the Mamool Ja Staging Point.

Not to be overly rude, but once you get inside Mamook, these are the worst directions ever. I got aggroed by True Sound frogs when I tried to take this route. Deleveled, too. Not good.

I did this staging point last night. My hubby and I had tried it before with no map, just written directions. It went horribly wrong. We got lost, aggroed by a frog, and had to warp out.

This time, I went on my own first, armed with a great map. I'm unable to find this map on the net right now, the one I had was given to me by a friend, but I'll try to post the link when I can access it again.

I sneaked and invis'd til I got to the viscous liquid. I put Regen III on myself and quickly drank the liquid. Lots of fun running around as a beastman. My Regen helped enormously, and when I got to a part where there were only spiders, I took off the costume and still had a little over half HP left. I sneaked/invis'd again, and got to the exit to Bhaflau. The walk to the heavy iron gate from there is easy, just sneak and invis til you get there.

I went again later to get this SP for my hubby, and Regen III'd him, and used a Persikos au Lait for myself. Not as good as Regen III, but it still works. We both did fine and he got his SP.

Compared to how horrible it was before, this time around was so easy it was laughable.
