Does anyone know the Proc rate or DEF - you get out of this thing ? En-spells may cancel out the proc but once it procs you can macro in another sword and ride the bonus. That is of course if the DEF - lasts any amount of time at all. I would think that it is prolly just like acid bolts in duration and DEF -. Anyone have some more insight ? and there is no way this is better than E Sword or Joyeuse or M. Anelace.

I'm different than you guys,
RDM has 250 skill in sword + dagger
I like all time to use in main hand like Blau Dolch dagger since it has very good damage and hidden effect like (hidden effect of Accuracy +5 and Attack +16 and DMG:33) and low delay
and the off hand joyuse. with EN spell, it will make you fast attack with high damage when you use evisceration. with haste equip you will be almost not stop from attacking. this is the best I see it for RDM

I (75Rdm) believe that this sword just may be geared towards those that melee solo wise. Bein a Rdm/nin, with Savage Blades Str AND Mnd modifiers, the +6 MND is where this sword shines (imho). When Dual wielding this and off handing my Joy toy, I'd macro in +23 Str and the +Mnd from Holy Phial (cant remember exact Mnd boost). To the point my Savage Blades havent hit as hard ever since I sold this sword. I wouldve kept it had I not needed the 5mil and obtained my Dissector.

To those that dont have Dissector and can off hand Joy Toy, the Str and Mnd Mods make this sword a Rdm's Savage Blades best friend. This isnt a be all end all " I know It All" post, just sharing my experience with it. Peace :)

P.S I couldnt afford the +2Mnd earrings, so I can only imagine what a Savage Blade with boosted Str AND Mnd from the sword itself, any decent +Mnd neck piece and any +Mnd/Int cape and two of those +2Mnd earrings wouldve done.

this sword is only expensive because of the rarity of people actually doing and beating a KSNM99, that being said, if you want mnd macro in a wand, if u want better savage blade dmg use a martial sword, if you want str, use str rings or something else(+1 isnt that much)

If you want defence down, cast Dia or dia II

the specs on this sword arent worth the price most people ask for it therefore making it an overpriced item with little practical purpose
other than to look cool, id prolly rather use a royal guard fleuret over this wen meleeing

*edit

for the guy who said RDM doesnt need double attack(reffering to the joyeuse), sure your right they dont ....need.... double attack, but if u saw a sword that said "Ocaisonally does double dmg and double TP"(which is more or less wat the joyeuse does) you cant really say it wouldnt hurt for a rdm to have it.

the amount of money this costs versus the amount of time the joyeuse takes to get, probally favors the Joyeuse as a greater value for someone who isnt lazy and feels like taking initiative to accomplish a goal. It all depends on ure point of view i guess.

This sword drops from all 3 Ks99s. I've seen it drop from Chlevnik and Wyrm, don't see why it would not drop from the 3rd.

Personally i think this sword is really good for rdm doesnt need double attack and rdm doesnt need to gain tp fast rdm needs to be a good enfeebler.. and to hit and dmg when it is necessary ... this sword has extra mind and strenght with forth you use weaponskills it helps enhance these... and you gain more effect on whm based enfeebling spells!

Wow, that was incredibly hard to read. I can tell your a real genius! Despite yoru intellectual prowess though, I'd like to point out that you're trying to talk about how an rdm's role is "to enfeeble", implying that you melee regularly in parties? If thats not what you're implying, then good luck soloing by just enfeebling :) As for rdm not "needing a double attack", oh, of course not! Who would ever need to build tp twice as fast, or kill twice as fast? OH! THe great RDM's that only fight with magic! the ones that take 10+min to kill easy prey, and then have to rest for another 10 min to get all their MP back after the fight! Yeah, I wish I could be like those rdm's! God, I wish I didnt kill easy prey mobs at 75 in 20 seconds or less, with no downtime, I'll tell you, it's terrible! It sometimes takes me 15 minutes to get a lvl for my npc that way! OMG!
The correct order of best swords for a RDM...

Not counting Excalibur...this is as correct as possible:

ranked:

1. Joyeuse
2. Martial Anelace
3. Enhancing Sword
4. Guespiere

Regular Anelace shouldn't be on this list... at all! And I almost put the Martial Anelace at the #1 spot. Doing a fully powered 300 TP Spirits Within/Savage Blade at only 200 TP is Godly. Sometimes when I use this sword I think it may be to powerfull, cause now the Enhancing Sword and Guespiere have very little usage because of it.

I own this sword, got it for 2.5 million gil. It's not bad. The Defense Down only works without enspell, sounds like it sucks right? Well RDM don't have many choices in swords at high levels, however, I do get a Defense Down when my enspell wears off and I dont have a chance to re-cast it. It also has decent damage for it's low delay, and the STR+1 MND+6 isn't bad. I dual wield this sword with Joyeuse. I like Anelace too though DMG 39 delay 233 DEX+2 VIT+2, those are nice swords too and cheap, I don't know why not many RDM have Anelace, maybe Martial Anelace TP bonus is better? Anyways this is how the order of the best swords for RDM are ranked: 1. Joyeuse
2. Enhancing Sword
3. Guespiere
4. Anelace / Martial Anelace

Joyeuse attacks twice at a low delay, which equals TP gain and double the damage. It attacks twice about 70% of the time, I'd say 50% but it feels like it hits way more often.
Enhancing Sword gives RDM extra acuracy and although it's a slow weapon, it hits harder than any other RDM sword. +8 accuracy +16 attack +5 enspell damage I believe. This doesn't really help your TP though.
Guespiere is a decent sub weapon, MND boost, a small 1 STR and the ability to give defense down to an enemy when your en-spell wears off, it also has good damage compared to it's delay and compared to other swords.

This sword is nice ~

It drops off of Chlevnik, a modified version of King Behemoth that you fight in the Horlais Peak Kindred Seal 99 BC. Its a pretty hard fight- 30 min time limit, 18 person fight; Chlevnik has less HP than the King Behemoth you fight in Behemoth's Domain, but in my opinion Chlevnik is a lot harder fight lol. Not only the time limit to consider, but he casts Meteor very quickly and very often at an alarming rate, so most of the fight is kiting him tryin to get close enough to do enough dmg to kill in 30 mins, but still be able to run away when he meteor's- which has a huge range and he seems to cast at least once or twice each minute.. the fight area is long and linear, so only back and forth kiting works. Anyway ~

Its nice for Savage Blade, definitely; in fact i'd go as far as to say thats what the designers had in mind givin it str and mnd, not to mention a little extra mnd for our enfeebling is always nice :D to have in a slot you normally wouldn't find it. It would make a nice companion to Joyeuse, for sure, when you dual-wield. However...

I haven't used one or seen it experimented with... so i don't know if the +6 mnd will make ur savage blade do more damage than the 50% TP bonus you get from using martial anelace >!<. If anyone has made a comparison, let us know please ~

I have this sword, and the Enspell does overwrite the added effect. I will say that it does look awesome dual weilded with a Joyeuse though.

Actually... it might not cancel it out

I currently use a Hornet Fleuret when I melee, which has Additional Effect: Poison on it, and even with Enspell, the Poison occasionally overrides the Enspell... so I imagine the DEF down effect would occasionally proc in place of your Enspell.

Disclaimer: don't take what I just said as absolute truth, it's merely speculation

As far as I know Enspells cancel out add effects. I used to dual wield blood rapiers for solo. Until I noticed no absorbing of HP with enspells. Since our damage isn't good already. I don't think drain on swords is > then enspells so I sold em. Well occasional drain =D and they did drain enough for me to notice they stopped working with enspells.

Also... MND ADDS to Savage Blade damage.

I've read on other boards that Savage Blade gets a 30%STR bonus and 50%MND bonus.

How often does the additional effect actually proc on this? I'm curious because I would imagine an En-spell will cancel out the effect. An additional 17/18 on each swing is worth quite a bit, compared to an "acid bolt" type proc. Now if it procs alot it could very well be worth it.

MysteryTour lists this and the 73 PLD sword that came out at the same time as being BCNM drops, same one.

Dunno what the +6 MND is for. There are better things to have in your weapon slot then this, and better swords for around the same price IMHO.

As far as I know these are both obtained at the BCNM fight in Balga's Dais using a Themis Orb and an 18 person alliance for the "Early Bird Catches the Wyrm" fight
