A noobie is a New Person that hasn't had much experience with a game or computer related socializing. Albeit, it has turned into an insulting term to describe a newcomer it still remains the slang of choice to most gamers when referring to fresh moat carp. It cannot however be used to describe people who overlook information when they have been playing long enough to realize that they've missed something. When all the information is posted they need only to find it and read it. Many people that play FFXI are looking for straight answers or someone to hold their hand and kill the monsters, or an easier fix to their plights. This does not make them Noobies. This just makes them lazy sons of Galka.
Do not insult New Players by associating them with lazy, blind Tunnel Worms.
Yes the information is here on Zam.com and new info is updated daily, so check it often. And for Star Sibel's sake, READ the post and all the post-posts before you post a post that has already been answered prior to your posted post. If the answer is unclear, I'm surrre you have a friend or two in-game that would be more than happy to reiterate in a language even a brain-dead Chocobo could understand. If you don't have any friends then perhaps you should join a LS or make an LS. If you must, pay people to join or rent a friend for a few hours.
And remember, friendship and knowledge are just 50,000 gil away. Make the call...
Our Mithra are standing by.
Burned Bergman
# Jun 14 2004 at 10:28 PM Rating: Decent
Probably not a big thing to worry about, but it happened to me, so here it is.

Be careful about healing on the back side of the mound of clay near the edge of that pool. Burned Bergman, a ghost NM, spawns /in/ that pool during nighttime hours and sometimes he floats close enough to heal-aggro someone healing on the edge of the pool. I'm a WHM52 and I know I can't solo him 'cause he almost ate me ^^; . Just keep an eye out.

Gads, it's creepy back there. (shudders)

I'm currently 47 DRK, and I had absolutely no issue with this NM, and as a DRK, undead are our weakness (no Drain/Aspir/Abs etc.). Perhaps you could try all your WHM buffs (stoneskin/blink/etc), and you could beat him. I didn't get the drop yet (only fought him twice), but when I do this quest, I keep a look out for him.

As a WHM in most cases it is very hard to kill something that checks as 'Easy Prey.' WHM's just don't have any big offensive strengths. Even with all the buffs available to us it would probably be very difficult to kill that NM at 52.
2160 gil in Mhaura
# Jan 30 2004 at 4:18 PM Rating: Decent
This is a nice way to get some pocket money if you're mining in Gusgen and a WHM. There's an NPC in Mhaura that asks for some Gusgen Clay. With sneak this won't take 2 minutes. Enter the mines and take the middle paths until you pass the second door. Assuming you have a map, the clay is located on top of a mound in the northeast room (the one on the right). Just go pick up some clay and head back to Mhaura for 2160 gil. This quest is repeatble, so whenever I'm in the area, I make a point to pick up some clay. Of course, you have to wait about a day after finishing to get a new request.
