Being a 68Rdm myself I am reluctant to say sure to giving the Pld and Drk enspells. But if Rdm can't have staff skill then Pld & Drk can't have enspells. If Rdm could have staff skill I would give up my enspells!:P

I tell you they really need an Enlight and Endark spell for sure, I mean it only makes sense to me that they should. Then again people almost never lissen to me in the first place.

should make those spells, AND make En- spells castable on other pt members....and you quoted gladiators on your signature...."Ave Caesare, mortuui tu salutant" was the gladiator's greeting to Caesar during the games...>.>;;; *feels like a nerd now*

Think thes espells should belogn to Paladins & Dark knights.. AND Redmages. I'm a RDM myself (level 46, haven't created a profile yet), and I'm certainly willing to see PLDs and DRKs get their respective spells at a lower level.

Now, some one posted that Dark Knights don't get an Enhancement skill.. so make Endark a Dark spell, just like Bio is. Which does not nessecarily mean Enlight should be a Divine Spell, given Bio's Opposite (Dia) is an enfeebling spell, not a divine spell. Though I wouldn't entirely mind it being a Divine spell either. Since Flash was removed from the RDM spell list, Redmages have a Divine Magic skill, but no Divine based spells.

Other methods for en-
# Aug 05 2005 at 12:25 PM Rating: Decent
The simple answer if you wanted to give them to PLD and DRK would be to base them off of Divine and Dark magic skills respectively. That way the target jobs would have the necessary skills, and have them at a high level at that.

PLD/WHM should have Enlight, while DRK/BLM should have Endark

Won't work, my reasons.....?

1. Dark knight does not have any Enhancing skill, while all the other En- spells are enhnaced skill based.

2. Paladin does have Enhancing skill but SE made them the opposit of Dark knight. So Paladins have no enfeeabling skill just as dark has no enhancing skill. If Dark can't get endark, it is highly unlikey that paladin can get enlight as SE likes to match these 2 job opposit spells in sets. For example Paladin gets Flash at level 37, Dark knight gets Stun at level 37. Simular yet not the same.

2. I don't think WHM/BLM have any mallee enhancing spell through out the game. SE designed them to be non-fighters as any triditional Final Fantasy Black mage and White mage. If they didn't start then from FFI why would they start now?

Ok, so where's the Paladin's "Donate-STR" spell? You said they were opposites but paladin's don't have any spells opposite of Dark Knight's "Absorb" line of spells. Another key point is Black Mages being able to use a Scythe...I think you get my point. Although my line of thinking is if a black mage can use a scythe, shouldn't a white mage use a great sword?
RE: Sorry Galant
# Aug 07 2005 at 5:20 PM Rating: Decent
The reason White Mages can't use a great sword(Or daggers like Summoner and Black Mage can) is because they're forbidden from using bladed weapons, code of a Cleric. I read about that somewhere, heh.

As a moderate level RDM (L60), I say "No"...I -do- believe those spells (Enlight/Endark) should be in the game as castables.

Enlight (PLD:16, WHM:30) Mana:15
Endark (DRK:16, BLM:30) Mana:15

Do not give "only" RDM's those spells (all the other Enweapons are RDM only), and if you =must= give RDM's those spells, make it no lower than L60 (although I would prefer not giving it to RDM's at all).

RDM's get enough grief from people as is...we are more powerful than any other job except the Ninja and Beastmaster...and for the Ninja to work EP/DC for hours at L50+ would require buying gil or six L75 jobs.

Give -other- jobs the Enweapon spells of Light and Dark...PLD/WHM should have Enlight, while DRK/BLM should have Endark...it fits, and would help eliminate some of the ******** RDM's get.

People hate RDM's because honestly, "they need us more than we need them"...and -no-one- likes being dependant on others, especially not to the level that "they" are(according to the whiny posts on the forum asking to have every job given refresh so "we don't have to be slaves to asshat RDM's").

However, until then, since I have the alchemy, I think I will make a few of these weapons for when I have to help out with G1 and Eldieme Coffer Key hunts.

Then why the hell, especially the bold part, are those ppl playing this game? this game is about cooperation and dependency on other jobs.

Agreed...this game is all about courtesy and cooperation. If you try to solo the whole game, you're an idiot. I'd like to see a RDM kill an IT mob quicker than a party 10 levels under him. If you don't like being dependent on others then just ask the WHM not to heal you and see how long you last.

As a RDM, this post makes all RDMs look bad because you are clearly trying to state that RDMs are better than all other jobs when in fact SE designed them to be equally useful. It is a matter of opinion and likes/dislikes.

RDM are good at soloing but people do not complain about RDMs due to the fact that we are despised by our power, but because people like you shout your self-proclaimed glory and give us a bad name.

En- spells belong to RDM so Enligh/Endark should only be available to other jobs via Enchantment weapons. Mages jobs like WHM and BLM are not melee in any respect and do not require En-damage. DRK has no Enhancing magic and Endark would be worthless because you do so much damage regardless. Too much aggro would result. PLD are always complainign about not having any special spells, but their job is Defense not Attack. Enlight does no good since you should be focused on DEF.

Even if RDM had these spells, they'd do little more than normal En-spells. The lvl to use should not be 60+ that's just ridiculous, but it shouldn't be the same as the normal En-spells. About 5-10 lvls over sound good.

wth does that mean? Im pretty sure RDMs have the Refresh that, im pretty sure most PLDs and other mages need/want to keep those chains coming. You sir are an idiot.

heh the NEED for rdms is a joke... i mean seriously... they are a great asset however there is this othe handy little job called the "Bard" and they sing "songs" or play "Instruments" that happen to have a handy little song called Mages Ballad 1 and 2...

so NEED, nah not really could always swap for a brd, or drop cash on Yag drinks....

dont get me wrong i am in no way flaming rdms they are an awesome job provided that a decent player is controlling them, same goes for all jobs...

but saying you NEED a RDM is like saying you NEED a PLD.... when there is another option for enfeebler/debuffer/refresher/backup healer, and respectively there are other options for tanks (NIN/WAR... WAR/NIN... or even WAR/MNK.. when properly equpped and played well)

however in leiu (sp?) of the actuall topic here... they should make these spells available to rdm, i am a DRK i dont need another worthless spell... when the hell do you even fight light based enemies anyways? (havent reached endgame yet so excuse me if there are a decent number of light mobs post 60+)

meh, rock on ppl

Your "no Enlight/dark for us" post turned into an "All glory to the Redmage!" post. And I think you should replace "we are more powerful" with "we are better at soloing", because I think some of the BLM's might get up in arms over such a huge misconception.

I need one of these.

When will SE make Enlight and Endark as spells?
Probably never, knowing them...but I can dream.

I seriously don't understand having Enchantments and Additional Effects on the same weapon. If the Added Effect sucks, why don't they just bump the proc for it. Adding En-spells seems redundant.

# Aug 05 2005 at 11:59 PM Rating: Decent
PLD should get enlight as a spell or have a trait that gives "Light Spikes" if your using a shield or something like that cause PLD are the only job with mp that don't have their own set of spells... DRK - Absorb RDM - En WHM - ra SMN - summons but PLD doesn't have any job-spec spells.. =/
RE: Nice Sword
# Sep 30 2005 at 4:31 PM Rating: Decent
PLD doesn't need any job specific spells, PLD has a lot more job abilities than mages do. Plus most mages don't fight either.

You can use the enchantment to put En-light on yourself then switch to another more current sword, giving its atack light damage as well

actually you cant, the only enchantmant that i know of that stays on after you use it is the exp+ from empress rings.
Where can u get one now?

This sounds awesome to me as a RDM (currently lvl 38) for gobs and undead and such.

There are none sold ANYWHERE in the last month on Sylph, so to get one...

Alchemy lvl 65
Hallowed Sword = Light crys, Hallowed water, Divine Sword

But nobody makes Hallowed water, so....

Alchemy lvl 51
Hallowed water = Light crys, fire anima, ice anima, light anima, distilled water...oh, and "Alchemic Purificatio"

I am alchemy lvl 32 now but i plan on trying this soon so if u want one on sylph look me up! (Baer)
