The Hauberk has indeed become quite cheap as of late... on my server (Odin) it's down to about 300kish now. Still without a doubt one of the best body armors for the melee jobs that can wear it.
Price on Gilgamesh was getting to be about 20 million in January. RMT stuff was issued in February, GS accounts were banned, now the price is 4.3 million. GO SQUARE ENIX! w00t!!!
Hauberks are "worse" Armor than Platemail. they came before plate type armor in the real world. Scale Mail is also a kind of Hauberk. If you argue that the Damascun steel used to make it is what makes it so good, consider, mabye a platemail suit crafted of Damascun Steel?
Jumped from 3.5 million last week to 4.7 million on Seraph, lovely. At least Haubergeon went up too, when i reach 69 (3 levels ^^) i'll have enough to buy this thing.
I don't see where you're coming from.. If a Haubergeon is 3.5 mil and a Hauberk is 3.5, then the Hauberk goes to 3.9 mil, it "makes sense" for the Haubergeon to go up to 3.9mil just because you need it to make a Berk?
ok... haubergeon is 3.7 mil... but you need it plus other material to make hauberk... so it makes since for haubergeon to be less than hauberk in order to make a profit... i think thats what you are trying to say, but im just clerifying you...
Does the (--) mean that Clothcraft could be zero and you'd still have a chance of sucess? My smithing is 9 right now and it's gonna take me a while to get 80+ skill lvls, I just don't want try th synth, fail because my Clothcraft was too low and lose my hauby
The (--) means that the level has yet to be confirmed by anyone. Haubergeons clothcraft level is 38 and Hauberk is the big brother, so assuming this you could say that if Haubergeon is 69 Smithing 38 Cloth, you'll need a good level in Cloth to be succesful, I'd say it's safe to assume lvl 58, but what do I know.
I play on the Fairy server im looking at it right now 3.7mil for the non HQ version. and for the +1its like9 mil. Im aslo a Smither so ya i dream of making it.(16smithing) to poor at the moment lol. But my main question is. What lvl of ClothCrafting do i need? Very importent question because i hope to bank of these one day.
Damascus just hit 7 million+, Hauberk is at 8, +1 is at 14. Yes, Asura truly is the capital of the Gilseller. Go mine gusgen on your server, tell me if there's less than three people camping each point. If there is, we've got you beat.
Notice the materials needed to "upgrade" the armor. It would make the armor significantly heavier using steel and darksteel. I guess Square-Enix never designed their SAM, etc classes to equip "heavy" armor. :/
