supply mission
# Apr 07 2009 at 10:24 AM Rating: Decent
Help! I accepted the supply mission at level 2 and got squished quickly. I am now level 24 and would like to do it again, but it is never offered. I checked all key items, I don't have the item anymore, and it has obviously been many days.
The T.K. only offers signet, spend points, and expeditionary thingie.

Any help would be appreciated.

i just bought one of these rings right now and was hoping to use it to lazily warp from the port bastok gate to the other end of north gustaburg on my way to the dunes.

little did i know about having to do the supplies runs first. oh well, in theory it would have cut my travel time in half so im still satisfied with my purchase as i run my supplies over to the gustaburg outpost

I was just browsing this page along with the homing ring page and I am pretty shocked that people think these items are worthless. The amount of time these rings have saved me has been well worth th CP points I've spent on them. These rings allow you to cover a lot of distance quickly. Think about it: you come out of Jeuno use it and suddenly you are @ an outpost, 10 seconds later you are in your home nation. No waiting for an airship, or chocoboing the entire way, or running. I've had these since they have been available, and at first I didn't have a lot of use for them cause I'm a whm and windy has Valdeaunia a lot so I just teleport there and run cause the OP is like 30 seconds away.

Anyone reading this wondering if they should get one, do yourself a favor and disregard these naysayers.

When used, this warps the user to the Outpost in the region the user is currently in, but only if the user's nation controls the region and the user has done the Supply Run Mission to that region.

Not really sure how you can step out of jueno and use it to a place that's 10 seconds away from your home nation... if you would explain it that'd be great.

Easy-Peasy!

1. Walk out of Jeuno.
2. Warp to outpost with Return Ring/Homing Ring.
3. Talk to teleport NPC at outpost.
4. Warp to home country.

Well, you could walk out of Jeuno, use the ring, warp to an outpost, and then talk to the teleport npc at the outpost, and warp to your home nation.

REAL Return Ring
# Sep 16 2006 at 9:58 PM Rating: Decent
Work OK but a better RETURN ring would be one you equip to set and take off when you want to RETURN. That way it would waste a spot in your equipped items and have to be replenished when it disappears. SE usually loves that kind of stuff . Wonder why they made one that sends you about 100 yards. lol
Stop complaining!

This ring is actually pretty cool if you consider its uses. As a solo BST if I'm EXPing in a region that my home town has control over then I can use it as an emergency get out. Much like I use Warp scrolls sometimes.

Also I have my HP set in Bastok all the time now. Mainly because I have all the OP supply runs done so I can get about much quicker than using the airships. If I happen to be in Jeuno and I want to get back to Bastok quickly I just look to see which neighbouring region Bastok has control over. Could be Qufim Island, Sauromugue Champaign, Rolanberry Fields or Batallia Downs. I have a reasonable chance of one of them being under Bastok control. So I all I do is zone out, use ring and OP Warp back to Metalworks. Simple!

I usually buy the Return ring simply because it works out a little cheaper on the charges. Thr Return Ring and Homing ring cost 2500/9000 CP respectively. So that's 25/300 CP per use. I wish people would stop whining about these rings being useless when in fact they are pretty cool if you know how to use them properly.

So this can't be used if you don't own a region? If so, that's pretty worthless. If you can use it any time, it's nice. I use outpost warps all the time to get around.
Adventurer Appreciation Campaign

Got this during the Adventurer Appreciation Campaign after waiting 2 days before asking the moogle to give me my gift.

This is a waste, not even worth keeping, so I'll drop it once the event is over.

COMPLETE WASTE OF CP!~~
WARNING DO NOT BUY!~~
Stupid thing!
# Mar 02 2006 at 7:25 PM Rating: Decent
I just spent my hard earned CP on it, cos it said outpost warp, and it only does it to the outpost in the region you are in if your country has control, total waste!
SE should make it clearer what this item does or should change it so does something useful.
Though it is kinda my fault for not finding out what it did before I spent my CP on it, that wont happen again.
My advice: Dont get it!!

This ring isn't supposed to be the ultimate in transportation. It's just another optional item you can use to your advantage..when it will work for you. I've had times where it came in handy, and it's worth hanging onto. Checking to see who controls what region before you head out can really save you sometime if you happen to be able to warp where you're going.

If you don't like the ring, then kick yourself for spending CP on something you won't use.

People are kind of stupid...

For a little bit more than the price of an airship, I can go zone to quifm, use my little ring-a-mobab, and then go warp back to sandy from the zone vender without waiting 10 minutes for the ship to arrive and the time it takes to get there.

Then, let's say I want to get to Zi'tah fast for a {sky} party. Do the same thing, and as long as you've done the supply quest to Zi'tah, you can warp there right after you warp home to sandy.

People really haven't looked into what this ring can do, provided that you've done some ground work before hand.

SE isn't dumb, people.

"SE isn't dumb, people"

not this time!
not THAT bad
# Oct 13 2005 at 10:21 AM Rating: Decent
This item isn't that bad. Transportation is one of the slowest - SLOWEST - parts of the game. SE just gave another option. It's not great - but it's something. Only being able to use it once a RL day isn't great, but it's ok.

I haven't played with it too much - but it does look like this ring only works in regions that your country controls and warps you to that region's outpost. There MAY be a level limit, but I doubt it...

If you've done the supply mission and you're the appropriate level they'll warp you back to your home town. From there you could warp back to your HP....

Options are good!
what?
# Oct 02 2005 at 12:18 AM Rating: Decent
o crap this ring only works in a region under the control of your country and teleports you to the outpost of that region this is an incredibly waste of time and conquest points if you see one RUN!!!

Umm, hardly... this item is actually good for a variety of things. The most obvious to me being for a farmer who is killing in a region controlled by their home nation; when their inventory fills up, they can hop to the outpost with this ring and from there on to home town via the outpost warp NPC - all in a couple quick hops.

For some people, being able to save the time of running back to town with a full inventory is definitely worth it. They can quickly dump their load off on a mule/AH/mog safe/NPC and warp back to the outpost for more. On certain moon/day combos you don't want to waste any time in the city... ^^

The reason there are two types of ring with this effect is so you can 'use twice per day'.

Here is what I found, One game day: bastok owns valkurm, sandy (my nation) is ahead in influence, sandy is in 3rd place overall, it doesn't work from La theine plateau. Next game day: sandy owns valkurm, bastok is ahead in influence, sandy second overall, it does work from la theine.

Hope it helps some, ima go around to other places out of pure boredome and see what i find...

Wow, I really wish I had read this first.

I just spent the last 30 minutes trying to warp to Ronfaure from Windy.
Gate Gaurds really should give you a refund on items like this.

I dont see why SE even added them...

Sorry to be boring but the return ring really does suck. what a waste of CP. Wish I had read the postings before wasting all those CP. I too have tried to use it wit no luck. Time to drop them I think. If a ring say it will warp you to outpost then it should just do that.

Level Requirement?
# Sep 04 2005 at 5:49 PM Rating: Decent
Also perhaps there's a level you have to be for each region similar to the OP warps from your home nation?
Some Clarification
# Aug 24 2005 at 1:32 PM Rating: Decent
Was finally able to use the ring. Here's how I think it works: It doesn't matter what place your nation is in the ranking. What matters is that you use the ring in the region where you country has control, and it will warp you to the outpost in that region, even if you're not in the same area as the outpost. I used the ring in tahrongi canyon and got warped the outpost in bubu outpost. Hope this helps

whether or not your country has control of the zone doesn't matter, i have every outpost in the game and tried in a zone under my countrie's control, nada.

i'm guessing maybe you have to be in first place?

definately disapointed in this item though.
Really, this thing is crap.
