Killed it

Killed this thing while finishing up my farming in Pashow as my 36 RDM. It spawned on top of a Malboro at J-8, which confused me because i read about this thing before and it supposedly spawns at I-7 or 8. I first took the Malboro and it almost killed me. Broke my stoneskin in no time and Bad breathed me at the beginning. I started with low MP to begin with so I started getting worried. I ended up killing it with 58 HP left and i rested, my eye on the Jolly Green. After a pesky Quadav aggro, I buffed up and attacked it. Nothing special... it was actually easier to kill than the Malboro. ^.~ Anyway, it dropped the belt and a dahila so woohoo! Thats 20k closer to my lvl 40 RDM gear fund... only 400k to go ><.
It was not raining, I found it at J-8, and it was daytime (meaning it wasnt 19:00) so I don't think its spawn is as set in stone as some think. Don't just look in the specified spots for NMs, you gotta check everywhere. Hope that helps.

Was farming Goobbues for Tree Cuttings and Moss when I turned around and saw this guy. I'm a 35PLD but wasnt sure what level he was, so decided to take it on anyway. Few minutes later he fell and I got a Dahlia. Woopee. Oh well, wasnt even aware of his existence until he spawned :P

I was farming at Pashhow and thought i'd check on Jolly Green. He's supposed to spawn at 19:00, only when it rains. When he spawned for me though, it was around 17:00 and it wasn't raining so it has to be something else...

It's as simple as a lottery spawn from the other Goobbues in the area.

Not like it matters, weak NM with a weak drop.

I've been farming in Pashow for the last 2 nights, and had the fortune of fighting this guy 4 times. Several Dahlias, some Cuttings, some Moss, but 0/4 on the Belt. Glad I checked this link, didnt know about the timing and weather being a factor. I go there as a 37mnk/whm and have no problems with any goobbues or land octopussies. When my 2hr becomes available, I kill the elementals, that frequent the area (water and lightning). Between goobbue pops I kill crawlers for silk thread and gob leechers and gamblers for crystals and armor.
Beastman Blood is available from the Leechers at the lake for that cool Drain spell quest.
There are 2 small areas where Jolly Green and his cousins like to pop: Upper part of I-7, and central I-8 (close to the wooden platform), they never pop by the lake.

Tree Cuttings are 20-30k on Fairy also.

The logic of you upcoming THF is really disappointing, but benficial to people like me. On my server, the belt goes for 30k. Cuttings are 8-10k per single. And much like most other things, servers tend to share similar pricing. I guess you'd much rather take the lesser of the 2 though. Whether or not you knew its price is irrelevent. Just by looking at the belts stats, you should initially assume this is worth more than a simple cutting.

I kill this guy pretty regularly, simply because he spawns all the time where I farm. I'm 0/10 with him right now, although I did get a couple tree clippings from him once, I usually only get dahlias.
Oh, and I've been taking him easy ever senese I was a MNK40/WAR20, which is when I started farming in Pashhow.
Dahlia's galore
# Jun 16 2005 at 7:13 AM Rating: Decent
I've killed him twice, dropped a Dahlia one time, a Boyahda Moss and a Dahlia the other. He's a fun little bugger to kill to be sure, I always get so excited to see him! I just wish I'd get the drop just to have gotten it, ya know?

you probably wouldnt be able to farm here easily... when i think back to 32 RDM farming here i remember getting exp sometimes from goobbues and i had to rest a bit every 5-10 minutes. I also saw Jolly Green once while i had low mp and he killed me ><
oh well hope that helps
RE: farm
# Jul 07 2005 at 12:02 PM Rating: Decent
he would likely kill you as 29BLM. i dont think the belt is too expensive, id say itd be worth buying if you need it.
accidental encounter
# Apr 25 2005 at 8:53 PM Rating: Decent
Was waiting for a ballista match to start. Went walking around killing mobs, engaged a fly but then I see a goobue pop. Ran up to it and tried to flash it.."The Jolly Green is too far away" So I immediatley run up, engage, bring it back to all the the people participating in ballista and they all cheered me on ^^, Two dahlias dropped, better than nothing, was fun :)
