Is this thing invisible? Reason I ask is that I was in the room with it waiting for the NM gigas to spawn for the rank 3 mission, and as I was tabbing I found this guy but couldn't see him, and neither could the person I was with.

No, more than likely your target was getting 'stuck' on something one floor above you (the NM is on 10F and I believe these start on 11F), or behind a wall.

yes the jotunn gigas's start on floor 11, i too targeted these guys while helping friends do 3-3 on floor 10, these guys look like pure evil

The rock throw on this guy is freaking murder, if u think the normal giants in this place are bad, this guys ridiculous.
