I have trouble soloing these as PLD75/NIN37... wtf is going on!?
My EQ is as follows:
Scorpion Harness+1
Empress hairpin
Amemet mantle+1
Evasion Torque
Dodge Earrings
Gallant Gauntlets
Warwolf belt
Gem cuisses
Gallant leggings
Jelly Ring
Hercules' Ring
and finally a Bibiki shell.

Why are these things so hard? I hit roughly 1100 damage with Savage Blade and these con EP to me.

Was farming these today for some buffalo meat as 70rdm/blm. I received Uleguerand Milk as a drop. It is not on the list, please update it - it may be a rare drop (I dont think so though), but it still drops.

Oh also, these are great to level shield skill on.

It's a new drop, used to make Cream Puffs.

I have not seen a Decent Challenge one of these yet. They have been fully Easy Prey to me thus far as SAM75, but I might not have fought a level 65 one yet.

I am a 66 THF/NIN and can solo these, they con as EP and DC and can kick their butts with full HP left, I can also solo tough crabs with full HP left too. Drops are hides and meats and even with TH2 and all my "luck" items, drop rates seem low. Plague doesn't last long and nothing much else of it's special attacks affects me for some reason, maybe it's the utsusemi. As for someone posting here saying one of these killed them along with their 75 pld friend...I say impossible, no way this could beat a 75 Pld when I can solo them. Someone must have been thinking of the NM version.

Just went to the Range with a couple of LS buddies..
61PLD/WAR 61RNG/THF and 62BLM/WHM

We were killin buffalos for about 2 hours. Didn't get any drops other than Ice Crystals.

As a side note, these Buffalos have an AOE virus which reduces TP and MP, and prevents you from resting back MP or HP.

/sigh We were hoping to get a horn, but I guess its just off of the NM as stated.

These most definately do not aggro to sound, I've been to Ulegestupidname Range quite a bit (BST is fun!) and have had sneak run out amongst high level Buffalo and they did not aggro.

I want to know if the lowest level Buffalo drop Buffalo Horns, those things are going for 200k+ on Fairy and they are fairly easy to kill as a BST, I've killed several with nothing but Buffalo Meat dropping.

I was wondering the same thing. However, my LS tells me it only drops from the NM spawn of Buffalo, dubbed Bennacon or something.

These definitely aggro to sound. My LS friend took his WHM33 out exploring the northern regions and happened upon one. Guess sneak ran out and he was aggroed.

Even though these sound like they'd be Taurus, they're not. Buffalo are their own separate mob type (big black buffalo-like things rather than humongous dinosaur freaks).

I think its taurus...like the zodiac sign...i guess a bull isnt a buffalo..but thats my thought on it..
