Mission Orders

The beastman thralls of the Seed Crystal are threatening to commence their dark ritual. They must be stopped before it is too late!

Walkthrough

This mission involves a BCNM fight in Qu'Bia Arena. The player who initiates the fight, and anyone else who wants credit for this fight must have the key item Mark of Seed from the previous mission. Party members without the Mark of Seed may assist in the fight, but will not receive credit toward completing the mission, nor will they receive the Ivory Key as a reward.

After watching the cut scene from checking the Burning Circle, check it again to enter. Any buffs you have will be removed once you enter. The fight is against a Seed Orc, a Seed Yagudo, a Seed Quadav, and a Seed Goblin. Defeat them within 30 minutes to win. If you lose, you will have to obtain another Mark of Seed to try again.

Battle Details

  • Seed Orc
    • Is a Warrior
    • Uses normal Orc abilities
    • Phantasmal Dance - inflicts AoE physical damage, Knockback, and Bind
  • Seed Yagudo
    • Is a White Mage

The mobs all share hate and will attack the same target. If a member of the party pulls hate away from their current target, all mobs will attack that player. They are immune to dark magic sleep spells and resistant but susceptible to light magic sleep like Repose and Lullaby. They are susceptible to Gravity.

PLD/WAR
PLD/WAR

BRD/WHM

We knew from the start it was a oddball group but only so many people are willing to help and only so many actually need to get it done. (at this point)

We had failed the previous night with a different setup, did a whole kiting thing which didn't work out very well.

This time around we ganged up on the yagudo and Ko'd him in a fair amount of time, we knew we would wipe but hoped we would at least take the orc before we all went down. We didn't manage, it ended up being around 20%, our Hp started to dip into the red so we started to head into the entrance so we could die and RR. No 2hrs where used at this point.

We RR and rested up, buffed up and ran at the orc, Ko'd him fairly quick and then worked on the quadav. 2hrs where used at this point when needed.

The quadav fell and the the goblin was next.

2nd PLD died but the goblin was already barely hanging on.

And then it was win. 25 mins / something seconds.

Did this fight as follows:

PLD: Kabalis
WHM: Mimicricri
DRK: Georgebush
DRK: Crassus
WAR: Gilfling
RDM: Olairik

We set the order of death to be Yagudo, Quadav, Orc, then Goblin. We rushed in there and pulled a zergling rush on them. the Yag quickly fell, and then the Quadav. but before I could 2 hour, I was killed and we quickly fell one by one until we were wiped. with 2 dead and 2 to go, we knew the rest of the fight would be easy. just make sure that if you plan a wipe, to die as far away from the middle as possible. after mobs returned to their waiting positions, we got up, rested, rebuffed, then I 2 houred the Orc to reclaim hate. then it was the Gobs turn. the Darks kept using Guillotine on the poor goblin and the next thing we knew, he was warping around the battle to the point of annoyance. the whm ended the fight landing a holy on the gob and winning the fight. my advice is lots of RR, and a well planned fight. even though it took us 25 mins and 40 sec, it wasn't that bad ^^

all of us are from the Bismarck server

Our attempt at this fight went very badly.

Was pld 75/war37 war75/nin37 whm75/sch37 nin75/war37 thf75/nin37 pld70/war35

to begin with all of us except the whm went for the goblin whilst the whm kited the yag whm, got the gob down with the 70 pld dyin due to a bomb toss

by this pointmain tank (me) was very low on mp from keep hate/alive, after the death second pld fight went down the drain. and somehow our whm ended up being silenced. i 2 houred to try and keep us standing but it wasnt enough after i went down the nin and war soon followed, horrible fight lol

------note to tanks---------
use every defensive bonus you have, having evasion capped is probably the onli reason we lived so long w/o a healer, if you have better eva+ gear then use it if you could do these mopbs one at a time it would be simple but the fact that they share hate makes this a challenge

-----note to mages-------

if ur whm stay the hell back stay in the doorway and bring echo drops

rdm gravity these f*kers abd try to take some from the tank to make it easier

always bring echo's something silences and i not sure what

___________edit______________

despite this saying they share hate you can kite the whm away from the rest so only the gob quad and yag share hate

from firther messing around it appears bard can sleep the gob somehow just thought ud liek to knw ^^

Just did this battle with 75 PLD RNG BLM BLM THF WHM. Here is the strategy we used...

We had the PLD voke (the Yagudo WHM) at the beginning and the other melees assisted, watching to make sure the other 3 mobs didn't start pounding too badly on the mages. We kept the "mage camp" near the doorway and tried to keep the "melee camp" across the room from the doorway. Occasional aggro made the mage camp scatter a bit, but we kept regrouping by the door. (Note: It's important to have that established, otherwise the party's WHM will run around trying to cure the people who are going down, and it all falls apart from there.) Aggro on the mages was best dealt with by having the mage do a quick kite back toward the melee area to avoid standing there and taking it, then looping back around for healing from the WHM. If the aggro persisted, one of the melees tried to assist.

The most important part to this battle was taking down the Yagudo WHM quickly. Everyone focused all efforts on the Yagudo till it dropped, then went to the Quadav RDM. The BLMs both died around the time we dropped the Quadav (which was more or less expected), then the rest of the party took the Orc WAR, then the Goblin THF. I don't know if this was the most effective order but it got the job done. Note that the Goblin is one tricky son of a gun -- he warps around the room tossing bombs, etc., and generally plagues everyone.

It's advisable to have reraise earrings, scrolls, etc. (but don't use them until you are inside the battlefield); and bring echo drops, and maybe yagudo drinks for mp refresh -- you'll go through it quickly. Anyone in the line of fire might want evasion+ equipment (and food?) if possible. That's more or less the battle from the mage perspective -- hopefully a melee can post on the strategy at ground zero. Good luck!
