Summary

A mercenary colleague has reported feeling an ominous presence to the west of Dvucca Isle...

Walkthrough

Talk to Naja Salaheem to begin this mission and prepare for a BCNM fight.

For the BCNM, each player has to have an Empramadian Gold Coin; whether it be to try again or to assist another. You can get another coin from Jazaraat's Headstone (E-10) from Caedarva Mire without having to fight Jazaraat again.

Recommended party should be generally over 70, with two hours ready to fire.

Zone out of the Dvucca Isle Staging Point (just take the Runic Portal) and travel west to F-9 where you will zone into Arrapago Reef. From there, head north to H-8 and you should find The Cutter. You should activate a CS upon reaching this area.

Get ready to enter the battlefield 'The Ashu Talif', which is the same BC you enter for Corsair AF. This fight will act similar to an Assault mission, as upon the leader entering, all party members will be teleported in, providing that they are in range.

You will have to fight two waves of Fomors, each wave consisting of 5. Also, Gessho will come to your aide in the fight. The first wave will consist of two RNGs, two RDMs, and a COR. The second wave is two RNGs, a RDM, a COR, and the Ashu Talif Captain.

While the Fomors are generally easy if you are over 70, the Captain is much more difficult. This is the time to just nail him with your two hours to bring him down. He gives up generally around 20% of HP.

Defeating him concludes this mission.

Ok, so I quit ffxi for about a year and if I remember right, I tried to do this mission before I left but my group failed.
I just tried to get another coin from Jazaraat's headstone but nothing happens when I check the headstone :/
Do I really need another coin to do it, or will I be able to enter the battlefield without it?

I actually failed this fight the first time we tried it lol >.< Setup was me 75BLM/WHM, a 75PLD/RDM and a 75BLU/NIN. Now we fought the first crew no problem, however, we stayed and fought them on the deck where they popped - didn't realise you could run upstairs, lol. So when the next let popped (we thought we might get a bit cs or something between pops - you don't!) Whole thing just got really messy because sleepga just got resisted w/o elemental seal.

So for our next attempt, we kept the same jobs expecet this time I changed to 75DRG/WHM, and also we pulled the first lot of mobs upstairs. We had PLD super tank the first lot of mobs while me and the BLU helped Gessho pick off other crew members. After we finished those off Gessho ran straight in and aggroed everything... we just let him get on with it >.> PLD kited the Capatin while we finished off the crew, then we ganged up on the captain. Pretty easy fight, just I would recommend getting rid of the crew before fighting the captain otherwise it may get messy lol. Well, if you're only doing it with 3 people it can XD
Yagudo Troubles

Just did this with pld, whm, rdm, blm, sam, sam. First wave was easy. The second the blm sleepga II'd them.. which worked until the darn Yagudo woke them up again by attacking the crew members.

All in all it worked out okay though :)

I believe Salvage requires you being past TOAU mission 17.

Here's my video for the fight. There are spoilers, but I hope it helps (like prevent the screwups we had).

Yeah so I thought I'd try and solo just to see what the hype was about, and at first I was like wtf this is easy then def down came... Needless to say I got pwned. There was a pld in the area that needed it too so we decided to team up and it still took us 2 tries and was a tough but rather fun fight.
Jazzeraat

Just Solo'd this guy as 72 BST/nin.
Was a pretty easy fight. I Headed out to him as soon as the sun came up.
Didn't wanna mess with the undead.
Got CS and popped him.
There are 3 Bird spawns you can use as pets.... just swap them before
they die so the can Regen back and you can repeat using them.
This guy hits hard. So you need to use all 3 to swap.
The Imps don't come near you at all... so there is no agro and the fight went very smoothly. Just Swap.. fight.... swap... fight....
Took about 12 swaps and he crumpled. Hit me once.
Keep those shadows up... and all is good.

A note to people doing this for the first time: The cutscene mentioned above is designed to make you think you've wasted your coin, and might be shoved into the bcnm without warning. The choice in the cutscene doesn't make a difference. They're just messing with you.

RDM duo

Just cleared this mission (RDM/WHM) with Jatten (RDM/BLM), took us about 10mins to kill the first wave of fomors. 2nd wave of fomors were significantly harder mainly because of Vulcran shot (aoe defence down only used by the fomor Captain). We completed the mission with very little time and mp left.

Defense down is deadly and must be removed immediately with Erase (remedy or Cocoon has no effect). 3 RDMs will be able to beat the fomor captain easily with chainspell thunderIII.

Took this down no problems. Sleepga let us kill them one at a time with no troubles. Kept one slept at the end of the first wave to regain mages MP (similar to Rank 9-2 missions) then just unloaded on the Captain after I ES Sleepga (was whm/blm).
