Summary

You are to escort Olavia to her desired destination within the Crawlers' Nest.

Walkthrough

Note: This is an escort quest. You can only have one escort quest active at a time. Other escort quests include Escort For Hire:San d'Oria, Escort For Hire:Bastok, Escort For Hire:Windurst, All By Myself and The Big One.

You can only undertake a specific escort quest once per conquest tally.

To start this quest, speak with Trilok in the Steaming Sheep Inn in Port Bastok. Once the quest is in your quest log, gather your party and head to Crawler's Nest.

The first person who zones into Crawler's Nest will get a cutscene with the NPC Olavia, who is the escortee for your quest. When the cutscene ends, make sure your entire party is in the zone before speaking with Olavia again.

When you're ready, speak with Olavia again and she'll begin walking. Speak to her whenever you want her to stop; this can help you clear away harmful monsters that might agro to her. If Olavia dies, you'll have to zone and restart your walk through Crawler's Nest.

Olavia will follow one of three possible routes through Crawler's Nest. One is very easy, one is moderately tough, and the third one is rough. Not everything aggroes in here, so you don't have to fight everything unless you really want to. You do have a 30 minute time limit, so be aware of that.

All three routes start with her running into the central "ball sack" room. Olavia will then run north into the scorpion room, where you will have your first aggro. I would recommend killing the scorpions before you go into the room. Once she gets to the room, she'll do a big circle and head back out to the main room.

This is where she embarks on one of three possible paths:

First route: If she heads NW up to the top level, breath a sigh of relief. You'll have to contend with a few soldier crawlers, a handful of labyrinth lizards, and a few exorays. However, you'll have plenty of chances to stop her before she gets aggro. The only dangerous point is at I-8 of the upper level, where she might fall into a room full of lizards that aggro. Keep one person up top to stop her, drop and kill the lizards, and then bring her down. She will head west and eventually end up in the Exoray room at G-10, where she'll stop. Once she stops, talk to her. You have about 20 seconds to talk to her before she warps out and you are out of luck.

Second route: If she heads SW towards the bottom level, this is tricky. She is going to come down to the bottom line and run through the big "donut room" filled with hornflies, exorays, soldier crawlers and mushushuus. Only the hornflies don't aggro, and also be aware of water elementals (Waterga II may kill her outright). She will run down the hallway at the west side of the room and eventually stop. This area is full of coffer key mobs, almost all of which will need to be killed before she moves by. If you're lucky, someone will be here hunting coffer keys and the path will be clear. Once she stops, talk to her. You have about 20 seconds to talk to her before she warps out and you are out of luck.

Third route: She may head due west out of the main "ball sack" room, and this is the longest route. She will head all the way down the hallway to F-7, then turn around and run all the way back to the main room. Then she will head NW and upstairs. Once she reaches the upper level she will head due north (dropping off the same ledge discussed in the first route), but head NE out of this room instead of west. She will eventually stop in the little room at I-7. Once she stops, talk to her. You have about 20 seconds to talk to her before she warps out and you are out of luck.

Once it is all done, return to Trilok in the Steaming Sheep Inn for your reward. This quest can be repeated once every conquest tally, but repeats will not get you the 10K gil, only the page.

I was a little high level 80,so no trouble of course killing.Thought i would share some info that is sort of missing.
You can have any other player click the npc and stop her, they do not have to have quest, but i am sure have to be in the same party.

You pretty much have to kill EVERYTHING in her path, there is the odd chance that if you get ahead of her,the mob is not quite in aggro range,so she can waltz past, but most of the time,it is aggro.
I did the one where she ends up in an Exoray room, she veers to the right ,then to the back behind the rock ,with her facing the wall.So if any Exoray are to the far left out of aggro, you won't need to kill them.

It has been point out already, but on the ledge that drops into several aggro lizards, you will need to stop her on the top, unless you have some way of casting an aoe to aggro all the lizzy before she drops down.Since she will be on top,you will probably need that second player to touch her, otherwise you will have to walk around and back up there to get her going again.

Although it was rather easy killing by myself,SAM/DNCR,it still seemed like i was probably close to the allowed time,i would say not much more than a couple minutes to spare.

My linkshellmates and I can activate the San d'Oria one, but for some reason, with Hero Fame in Bastok, Sandy, Windy and Jeuno, and no other escorts activated, we cannot get access to the Windy or Bastok ones. Anyone else have a similar problem.

Just to restate the problem for clarity: You have hero fame in all three nations. You can get the San D'oria one repeatedly, but can never get either Bastok or Windurst? Is that correct?

By any chance are you doing the San D'oria escort quest first the same conquest week? You can only do one of three home city escorts per week, not one per city per week.

I also assume you don't have either The Big One (Tav Safehold) or All by Myself (Bastok) activated, because that would preclude you from accepting the San D'oria escort.

Went with a PT of 4 people, all level 70 - 75 and we pretty much just trained all the mobs, slept them, and nuked them. Did the quest in like 10 minutes or so.

Good Luck and enjoy the XP. I got 800+ the first time. Not bad for only 10 minutes of effort.

Try subbing BST. Training the mobs is a good way to do this quest. It might **** off a few people along the way, but it is efficient. Just be careful of the parties and whatnot around you.

This quest also has a fame requirement, my LS friend and myself tried to start it. I got it with lvl 6 fame but he couldn't with lvl 4. So it takes at least lvl 6, maybe lvl 5 to start it.

68 bard I can sub whm or BST. My plan is to sleep all and keep deoderize up, so when the mob wakes up they will not chase.
Will this work ? If not my plan is to /bst and get me a really big pet and let it do all the work.
I have not done any kind of escort at all. So any info on how to do this (dont need route info), how do you make the chick stop/go.

Out of curiosity anyone know if the NPC's level is based upon the level of those doing the quest? If so as 73blm I should be able to solo without her getting aggro. Very little reads higher than EP high defense with 200 staff skill. I've run around in there helping two ls mates with finding the Nest coffer for their AF pieces and no aggro at all.

her lvl is not based on your lvl. i'd give her somewhere around lvl 40, even if the lowest lvl with you is 75, she is going to aggro everything in sight.

i did this today as a 59BST/WHM, it was the second route. Everything was at most Easy Prey up to the Crawler Hunter/beetle spot, i dont know how hard those are since someone was killing them all ^^ .

the strategy seems to be: charm one mob in the room and attack the others, using heel and agroing the ones that dont attack imediately, then sending olivia through, releasing, charming the one that comes after you and releasing that one.

i was worried about time but i finished it in about 12 minutes (considering i did not kill 1 mob i would say if you do it this way you have tons of time to rest after each room to keep your mp full). if the crawler hunters/beetles are too hard to charm (and keep charmed while you talk to her at the end) i would think sending a jug pet in to agro the group would be the way and warping out when you have gotten the key item.

i would guess at 57+ a BST could do this route without any help from coffer hunters/xp parties in the last area without too much trouble(just a guess since i have yet to do it this way)

Nope. Has nothing to do with Promyvions, CoP or Eco-Warrior quests. You only need a reasonable amount of fame in the city you start it in, and not to have any other Escort quests active.

No, this is not linked to Eco-Warrior. The quests are similar in that they reward you with an XP page and you can only have one active at the same time, but they don't actively interfere with Eco-Warrior or vice versa.

I did this with the uber party setup of 56mnk, 60drg and 60war.......that's it. We had the warrior actually escort her and keep her stopped, while myself (mnk) and drg ran ahead and killed everything. We ended up completing it though, and it was fun. She took route#1 according to Valyana. I couldn't imagine completing the third route.

We had some problems with people getting this quest last night, even with people who had max fame. We discovered the reason -- you have an Escort Quest active in another city. This INCLUDES "All by Myself" in Bastok, "The Big One" in Tavnazia and also the standard "Escort for Hire" quests in Windurst and San D'oria. To get rid of this quest, you have to simply talk to the NPC who gave it to you in the first place, and then you can go and accept another. This is likely the reason you can't get this quest, although fame is obviously some component.

This quest is very similar to Eco-Warrior on that front, and I believe you can only do this once a week, although that has not yet been confirmed.

3 Routes

There seem to be three routes Olavia can take. All of them involve dropping down into the Maze Lizard room, taking the first right, and circling through the Doom Scorpion room before returning to the Maze Lizard room.

From there, she can take any of the next three rights.

#1) This path goes straight down to the northern map. She passes the Doom Scorpion and Puroboros, then a bunch of Soldier Crawlers on her way to the Labyrinth Lizard room, where she drops down.

She takes the western exit from the Labyrinth Lizard room and curves around to the SW on her way to the Exoray room (G-9/10). There is one Exoray wandering the halls on the way that might aggro her, but usually is far enough away not to. When she gets to the wall of the Exoray room, you're done.

#2) This is the path to the Nest Beetles. She goes past them all the way to the end, past a Doom Scorpion. The room at the end has some Soldier Crawlers. Once she's been there, she turns around and heads for the Labyrinth Lizard room.

From the LL room she takes the eastern exit and heads around to the Exoray room in I-7, past some Soul Stingers. She stops out in the middle of the room.

#3) The hard one. This is the path to the big room with Hornflies. Once she gets out into the big room, she heads west and then south, past Soldier Crawlers, Blazer Beetles, Exorays and Mushussu, all of which will aggro her.

In the SW corner she takes the passage past the Rumble Crawlers, Helm Beetles and Crawler Hunters, finally ending up in the Knight Crawler room.

So, the toughest mobs on the first two paths are Exorays (51-54), but on the third path they go up to Knight Crawlers (60-63). This is quite doable for a low-50s BST; just let her die if she takes the third turn, then leave and re-enter the nest to try again.
