Summary

Walkthrough

Speak to Ibwam, who is standing at the fountain in Windurst Woods, and he will pin a key item "Green Sentinel Badge" onto you and ask you to recruit people for Salaheem's Sentinels. Speak to the following people in each zone:

Windurst Waters:

Windurst Walls:

  • (J-11) Yoriri
  • (J-6) Moan-Maon
  • (K-7) Shantotto
  • (H-3) Chomomo (CS, Badge)
  • (F-5) Naih Arihmepp

Port Windurst:

  • (M-6) Yujuju
  • (F-6) Choyi Totlihpa
  • (E-7) Yaman-Hachuman
  • (E-7) Kunchichi (Badge)
  • (G-7) Three of Clubs

Windurst Woods:

  • (I-5) Umumu
  • (I-10) Cayu Pensharhumi
  • (J-3) Nanaa Mihgo
  • (J-13) Etsa Rhuyuli
  • (H-10) Soni-Muni
  • Once you have talked to all of them, go back and talk to Ibwam again. He will take your faded badge and award you with a key item Green Invitation Card. If you have an open Lure of the Wildcat quest in another city you cannot finish the others.

Also, once you have completed this quest, this NPC will be able to teleport you directly into Whitegate. Simply trade 300gil and off you go!

So, 1st let me start by saying all these are a pain. If you start one lure of the wild cat, u have to finis it before the one you last activated. i.e., i started the bastok, did a few, started windy, had to finish windy before doing more bastok. secondly, you have to be a private 2nd class to use any of the warps to whitegate at the price of 300 gil, hope this helps! p.s. - if you turn in all cards, you get imperial mythril piece

    Teleporter to Aht of Uhgan
    # Oct 16 2007 at 8:36 AM Rating: Decent
The teleporter will be activated by the Aht Urhgan mission 3-1 that is from minimum level 50 on. To come to Aht Urhgan first time you can use the ship to Al Zhabi, what can activate after the Tenshedo Quest. For this quest you will need enough Jueno fame, built by the average of all other city's. I got that fame after doing 26 quests in windy and also 7 quests in Jueno.

Since no one has posted this here, by doing this quest you unlock the ability to teleport to Aht Urhgan Whitegate by trading the starting NPC 300g.
    whats the point of this?

is there any resion to do this?
Would I get anything speical out of it, when I become a mecerny?
    Worth the time?

Okay, I came here to see if there's any reason to do these quests. I do know for a fact that you DO NOT need them to become a mercenary or to progress through the first parts of the ToAU missions. As far as I can tell, when you complete the first ToAU mission, you get a different reward based on how many of these you completed. I did one and got a bronze piece. My girlfriend didn't do any of them but she was still able to do the missions. I hear that if you do all four, you get a mythril piece. If that's all you get, I personally don't think they are really worth it, UNLESS it gives you some sort of fame for the new area, which I'm still trying to find out. Hope this helps and I'm not beating the dead horse too badly.

I was going thru this quest in Windurst today and went to all of the NPCs, got the flash from every single one... except Nanaa Mihgo. Very easy explanation though. I am currently doing Mission 2-1 in Windy, so she repeatedly asks me to go to the Maze of Shakhrami to continue the mission. So just a note, if you happen to have the same problem, you just need to finish 2-1 to get the badge to flash with her.
    Get your invitation reward from:
    # Apr 26 2006 at 6:46 PM Rating: Decent
After you get all four cards take them to Naja Salaheem in the Salaheem's Sentinels (I-10) in Aht Urhgan Whitegate.

You will recieve 1 Imperial Mythril Piece.

I'm guessing if you only trade in one invitation at a time you'll just get 1 Imperial Bronze Piece for each. 2 may get you 5 Imperial Bronze Pieces. 3 maybe 1 Imperial Silver Piece. I don't know for sure because I wanted the best reward which is the Mythril Piece. These are just based off of the currencty extange for credits from Ugrihd (G-9) Aht Urhgan Whitegate.

    Good luck.

    "cannot finish others" inaccuracy
    # Apr 18 2006 at 10:48 PM Rating: Excellent
I'd like to comment that the statement, "If you have an open Lure of the Wildcat quest in another city you cannot finish the others." is incorrect, i got the white sentinel badge in jeuno, did 2/4 zones, ended up flagging bastok on accident, left bastok, did the sandy one with my friends, went back to jeuno, finished up there, went to bastok, completed, and now am on windy.

#REDACTED, Posted: Apr 01 2006 at 8:48 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Well, Aht Urhgan has a problem, so when the Queen of Aht Urhgan sent out scouts they went to the 3 Major cities and also to Jueno. The Purpose of the cards are as follow:
    ALL DONE ALL CITIES!
    # Mar 25 2006 at 3:25 PM Rating: Decent
I did all cities. Every NPC in every single town
    Bastok
    Jeuno
    Sandi
Windy.. in that order but that doesn,t matter.(3 hours uhhg.)
I even checkd all major ports just incase.
As it seems to me now all i need is exspansion pack and
I have earned the ability to be a mercenary.

That is what you recieve when you are finished and you ARE NOT done untill you do ALL Cities.

I keep getting lots of quistions on why we should do this quest. Simple put, it is almost certian that you use 1 or all 4 of the invitations to get access to the expansion areas or town. My guess is that you will need all 4. I am also hoping that doing these 4 quests will be the start of my fame for the new town.

Big congrats to SE for making these quests avalable ahead of time. If we where not allowed to due them tell the expansion, everyone would be running around in towns trying to do them at the same time. The problem? Jueno would probable crash do to so many people in the town, since it seems so slow and about to crash on a normal day. The quests have also generated a lot of chat about the expansion, which is good from a marketing stand point.

Now if I could only find some key item somewhere that would allow me to unlock blue mage so that I would have it ready to go once the expansion was out .......

    Mercenaries...?

Although this is a guess. I'm lead to believe that these quests may be the precursors to obtaining the new jobs in the upcoming expansion. The clue that makes me jump to this conclusion is mostly because the starting NPC's in each city state that their company is looking to hire/recruit more mercenaries.

Although... this is only a guess.

I've spoken to all 20, I even went back in the chat log and counted all 20 "Dwyn's badge flashes brightly" notations. I zoned out and back in to talk to him and he still just gabs about people are talking, and the eyes will flash..

So what have I missed? Must they be done in a specific order? And if so, are you out of luck if you didn't? I've rechecked some of them, and they don't give you the flash again.

EDIT: Interesting. I happened to talk to one of them a second time (the one atop the Auction House in Walls) and though I definitely recorded having talked to her and getting the badge flash once, I got it again after I talked to her a second time. Now I have the card.

I can't explain that one, why they'd make me talk to her two times. I can only assume it had something to do with her being alongside another person, maybe you cannot talk to her friend first.

This happened to me with Funpo-Shipo. I know I talked to everyone becuase I printed this page out and kept track, and counted how many times I flashed my badge (in the chat log) to people and added up to 20. This also happened to me in San d'Oria 3 times each in a different zone. Guess everyone still working on this quest should just talk to them twice the first time just to make sure. This might not even help as the quests might have an error when you zone or somthing. Good luck and thanks for the info!

Actaully if your playing on PC or PS2 and using a controller like i am, it is very easy to "cancel" your converstaions. Even tho you flash your badge if u hit circle or number 3 on my logitech controller it cancels the converstaion, and that is why you talk to them again.

I noticed this in windy when i started the quest i happend to hit circle and cancel it then talked again and it flashed my badge again.

    fee free to test it.

Make sure that you speak to the person repeatedly, until they are NO LONGER talking about the Sentinels.
I had the same problem when I did it in San d'Oria, I ended up speaking to a couple of the people again and the card flashed again for those couple I spoke to a second time.

In other words, speak to the NPCs you need multiple times to make sure they've told you everything, or else it will not register on your card.

There really is no easy way around it except to talk to everyone again. It helps to make a check list and actually check people off when talking to them vs. viewing the log. Here's a couple things to watch out for:

    1. In Waters, there's a taru that will run around between G-9 and F-9, but he technically only qualifies as one of them.

    2. There are instances (two of them in Walls) where the children will flash badges back at you. In some cases, there are multiple kids. It helps to speak to both of them, as some towns require this.

I had the same problem too with the Windurst quest, mostly due to the guard in Waters down near the zone to West Sarutabaruta. He's as close to the zone as possible, so it was easy to miss him. Once done, talk to the NPC, get your invitation, head to another nation, repeat.

    Hope this helps.

I have yet to do this but my understanding is that it is a town quest and you talk to the appropriate people, then back to badge giver. THEN go do another city... Onecity at a time i think :D
    one shot quest
    # Feb 25 2006 at 8:37 PM Rating: Decent
Ive done TWO of these quests, the Jueno white one and the Red Sandy one.

THEY DO NOT 'STACK'. If you have done one of these quests in another city, you wont get any sort of completion from the quest giving NPC. Unless trading/talking with the invite you already have to someone elsewhere, (Aht Arghan probably)changes things, its a one shot quest.

No, each city has an invitation and doing it in each city earns an invitation *holds up his four*.

I don't know what he means by these "not stacking". But yes, you can quest for, complete, and earn an invitation in each nation.

And no, having all four doesn't change the fact that these invitations don't do anything yet and most likely wont until the expansion pack is released.

    Windurst Waters:
    (G-4) Npopo
    (G-9) Kobite-Mojite
    (F-9) Funpo-Shipo
    (F-10) Kyume-Romeh
    (F-8) Lago-Charago

The Highlighted NPC is wrong, its actually:

    (G-9) Amagusa-Chigurusa

(FYI Amagusa-Chigurusa is next to Kobite-Mojite)

As mentioned before, the reward is the Green Invitation Card given in exchange for your "worn out" Badge.

For the unknowing, there's one in every nation that produces the same effect. Right now, the sole purpose of the quest is to learn information on the kingdom of Aht Urghan. When you receive the Invitation Card, all the NPCs say something similar to "keep this until you visit us", indicating that we can't use them just yet. Similarly, the ToAT page has been updated to include new NPCs, one of which is the head of the mercenary group you're recruiting for: "Shalheem's Sentinels". Clicking on her prompts a 'recruitment' poster requesting that any and all adventurers of Vana'diel interested in becoming mercenaries for her "do their part" and then visit her. Seeings how we can't visit her quite yet, the cards will eventually show significance.

If you have the time, I definitely recommend doing them. Informative and who knows? We may need all 4 cards anyways.
