killing a too weak mob is really essential before making use of a spell,

it's like drinking a beer with friends saying "cheers" without looking them in the eyes: you get 7 years of bad sex. and we DON'T want that to happen...

Annoying

First of all, your post is annoying. Second there is no scroll, that's why it says "Obtained with Merit Points". Third of all you have to be lvl 75 do earn Merits. Merits are like leveling up beyond level 75 but your level doesn't actually change. Go learn how to read and learn how to spell real english instead of that L337 junk that makes you sound like your a 6 year old.

Step One: Be level 75, specifically with Black Mage.

Step Two: Talk to the moogle near Maat, and sit through a long explanation. He'll give you the key item Limit Breaker.

Step Three: Go to your Mog House. Click Status > Merit Points > Mode Switch > Merit Points.

Step Four: Go earn 30,000 limit points. This is the same as gaining exp. It's safe to say that this part will take you the longest, although listening to the moogle comes close.

Step Five: Having earned 30,000 limit points, and therefore 3 Merit Points, return to your Mog House. Click Status > Merit Points > Categories > Black Mage. Click on the spell you want, in this case Flood II. Tell it that yes, you're sure.

Step Six: Proceed to West Ronfaure and choose the weakest looking rabbit. Cast Flood II on the selected rabbit. This is an essential part of the process and should not, under any circumstances, be overlooked. It is my belief that your future damage with Flood II will not be as great if you do not "prime" or "break in" your spell properly.

Ahem...anyway, I'm a little surprised I chose to reply to this post, honestly. It's a little obnoxious, and hard to read. If the letters on your keyboard are that sticky...you might want to consider replacing it and modifying the behavior that made it that sticky to begin with. >_>

Still, I suppose that people near 75 or people with limited experience with limit/merit points may find this somewhat educational. Just don't forget the rabbit.

Edit: edited for spelling and mild to moderate stickiness

I would have it be known, that this method does in fact work... And I don't care that someone's parser says otherwise, it works because I say so.

You can tell when a spell is broken in when there's a crowd of lowbies all around wondering what the hell happened to the little fuzzy rabbit hopping around over by that tree in the distance...

Like with burst 2... Big ball of lightning appears above test subject- test subject blinks once or twice, looks up, and a stream of lightning crashes down...

Just as this is happening, someone sees the flashing

And by the time they get there to check it out, there's just a black spot on the ground, and you're chillin' out, munching on some nice rabbit jerkey.

But yeah... I think I need to break it in some more *cough*

By the way... if anyone has any pics of this AM2, or any of the other ones- I'd like to see them. I won't be getting every AM2 since I plan on getting a couple to tier II, and it sure takes a while to get those limit points, with mt. zhayolm always so crowded...

Why do you have to kill a weak mob to "prime" the spell? I don't see how this would effect the future damage of the spell whatsoever.

Lol, it doesn't. It was a joke. And now you've ruined it. I hope you're happy.
