A question about the XP loss Cap
# Dec 03 2007 at 12:05 PM Rating: Default
Is it true that even at lvl 75, the max XP you lose for one death is 2400 XP? I'm thinking about rejoining the game and I remember higher level people talking about losing 20k xp from deaths. Perhaps my memory serves me poorly, but I could swear that with my lvl 58 thief I lost around 6000 xp when I died. Please don't flame me.
eh?

so using raise3 pretty much stops that stupid Ks worth of exp loss?

To clarify (from my very own spell menu in-game >.>)
Raise 3 = 250 MP cost.
Reraise 3 = 200 MP cost.

Both restore 90% XP loss (240 EXP at best). Works on people level 51+ the most effectively.

Reraise III, as with Raise III, restores 99% experience and is the same MP cost (250).

umm...no R3 is 90% of 2,400 exp loss(Max exp loss). So you lose 240exp.
a good spell if not?

Lets just say, when ya cast rerase III on ur self and ya die...
you would be lieing there as if someone just cast's raise III on ya
its WORTH casting in NM fights, if ya heal after useing it!
#REDACTED, Posted: Aug 02 2004 at 6:42 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Reraise III, as with Raise III, restores 99% experience and is the same MP cost (250). It's just cast upon yourself. Now the issue of hate. If you die and reraise yourself during a fight, you have lost all hate from the mob. If you take any action against the mob or cast on party member you will draw a little bit hate and possible come after you again, not good when in raise sickness. But you will get exp if the mob dies and doesnt totally wipe out your party. I have reraised myself during a fight and not drawn aggro at all, i just didn't cast and had the rdm heal the rest of the fight.
Cast time? Duration?

Anyone know duration and cast time on this spell? If duration is low, then it might not be that great.

1 hour would be my educated guess, since Reraise and Reraise II last that long.

If you have Reraise III up and are KO'd will the auto-casting of Raise III attract any hate?

Absolutely not. Hate is only generated when a few things happen.
1. Mob is agressive and detects you (sight, sound, HP, magic)
2. You attack the mob. (including enfeebs)
3. You cure someone the mob ALREADY HATES (including status cures)
4. You buff someone the mob ALREADY HATES
5. last but not least, some mobs agro if you are resting.

when someone dies in battle, they lose ALL HATE. Therefore, ther is no more hate generated by them being raised, wether it is from raise or reraise dosen't matter.

So... if the puller gets agro from a mob that you don't want to fight, let the puller zone it, the rest of the party can stay put so long as they don't help the puller in any way. (keep in mind that some buffs like regen or refresh that continuously build hate may cause the mob to come back for the one that cast the buff, even if it was cast before the mob agroed).

However, there is an exception to this rule. If the mob is agressive and detects the rest of the PT in the course of being zoned, it will come back for them, because a small ammount of hate is built just from being detected if the monster is agressive.

And never forget that if you are raised mid battle against an agressive monster and you run away to rest and your PT dies or zones, it WILL come back for you simply because it detected you when you got raised and you get a small amount of hate for this.

One last note, no mobs DETECT by scent, but many do TRACK by it. If you're raised mid battle and want to go rest, throw Deodorize on yourself before you go to avoid being tracked

Mobs do not aggro anyone because they are resting. What resting does is cause all mobs to aggro you as if you were level 1. So if a mob can aggro at all (sight or sound or low hp) and your resting near them they will aggro regardless of your level.

just in case
# Jan 30 2004 at 11:46 AM Rating: Default
yes, but this spell is like a "just in case you die, raise 3 will be cast automatically when you do" spell. So you dont have to worry about them not noticing your death.
KO'd ??
