Factions

There are two main forces in conflict in this zone: The Rilissians of the Sathirian Empire, against the Di'Zok Sarnak of Bathezid's Watch. In addition, there are two other more internecine conflicts: The Exiles of Droga against their former community, the Goblins of the Mines of Nurga, and Bellywhumper Burynai against their cousins, the Bonediggers of the Field of Bone.

While it is possible, and desirable, to become an ally of all four of these factions, it is almost impossible to do so before you have leveled out of the zone.

There are a few other groups in this zone that do not have defined factions but are worth noting here:

• The Frogloks of Reet - Preyed on heavily by the Rilissian slavers, these frogloks are fighting for their very existence in this zone. Many of their former villages in the Swamp of No Hope stand abandoned as they have moved into more defensible positions in the hills.
• The Teren fishermen of Omen's Call - This small village and trading post out of Teren's Grasp maintains a very tenuous position between the Iksar and Sarnak.
• Rilissian Bandits - These dishonored exiles live in the hills west of Riliss, endangering caravans and the unwary traveler.
• Sarnshak Rebels - Di'Zok deserters, they maintain a strong camp in the hills between Riliss and the Field of Bone.
• Nurgan Goblins - Based at the Mines of Nurga, these goblins have numerous scouts and foragers as far as the Rilissian Lowlands and seem to have some kind of an agreement with the Rilissian Bandits.
• Bonedigger Burynai - Found only in the Field of Bone.
• Kromdek Giants - These Hill and Forest Giants live in Camp Kromdek, a large camp on the west side of the Field of Bone. They seem to be very active in mining and foresting, but there are no foundry or mill operations in sight.

Riliss

Assistant Vihl at Kylong Post has a task for you that will give you enough of a faction boost to be able to use the roads without worrying about becoming lodged between the toes of the rhinos ridden by the omnipresent Rilissian sentries.

Bathezid's Watch

It is worth mentioning, in case, after the Di'Zok of Kylong Plains, you think poorly of the Sarnak military, that Bathezid's Watch has stood for years against the considerable focused might of the Sathirian Empire. To begin your quest for faction with this fortress, speak with Outrider Kelgyn on the path from Kylong Post to Bathezid's Watch. There are many Sarnak on the path, and you will be KOS to all of them initially, but there are gaps in the pathing of the mobs. Be patient and you can easily reach Kelgyn.

Note: Sso great is the Bathezid's dislike of the Yha'lei fishmen that, upon first arriving in the Fens, if you kill just 2 fish men the Di'zok of Bathezid's Watch will immediately count you as, if not a friend, at least someone worth allowing to live!

Exiles of Droga

An odd partnership, the residents of this camp are all exiles from Mines of Nurga or Camp Kromdek. Who knew Giants and Goblins could be friends?

The Bellywhumpers

Friendly Burynai, these badgers are always hungry and, because of the meanness of their cousins, the Bonediggers, they cannot forage in the Field of Bone so they need your help!
