Contents [hide]

Introduction

A hard-traveled band of nomads.

Unlike other beastmen, Goblins can be found in most regions across Vana'diel. Their flexible lifestyle and adaptability to the surrounding environment have given them the ability to coexist with other beastmen as well as people. Compared to other beastmen, Goblins have developed superior techniques in trades such as smithing and healing.

A widespread race of highly intelligent beastmen. Goblins rarely establish villages or nations, and in many cases prefer to wander about independently, sometimes assimilating into other races. They have a knack for adapting to their situation, and continue to do business with humans.

Common Garb

Traveler Attire Most Goblins love the nomadic lifestyle, so they are always carrying around bedding, food, and a variety of ingredients and drinks. (Even Goblins that settle down enjoy practicing this custom.) In addition, no traveler will be without their padded suit, light-resistant goggles and gas mask.

Shaman Attire This is the outfit once used by a special lineage of Goblin shamans who were even selected to be in the Beastmen army. There is ample room to carry many items used in their sorcery, accompanied by the cursed runes inscribed upon the armor.

Mercenary Armor A Goblin mercenary wears plate armor fashioned to match his body type by skilled Goblin metalworkers. Their knapsacks are much smaller.

Common Equipment

Goblins may carry many strange knick-knacks, but they also have a large amount of useful items. Let’s take a look at some of them:

Goblin Helm A helmet made of iron and bronze. Since these are specially designed for Goblins, even a TaruTaru would have a tough time wearing one.

Goblin Grenade

Goblin Cup A cup made of bronze, or sometimes silver, but most times tainted with brown rust.

Goblin Grenade A powerful, spherical bomb thrown by hand. Setting the fuse properly can be difficult, so there are many incidents of misfired bombs.

Goblin Fang Sack A dirty, hemp sack made for holding a collection of rotten teeth. According to superstition, rotten teeth bring luck to the Goblin and jinx others.

Moblins

The Moblins are a tribe that broke away from the Goblins in the far distant past. They differed from their brethren in that they preferred to live and conduct business in groups, so they establish their city of Movalpolis, deep within the earth. For a long time, Moblins cut themselves off from surface-dwellers, constructing their vast city all on their own. This helped them to develop their superb excavation skills, and brought them great wealth from the vast resources they discovered in the earth. Flooded with riches, they swallowed their pride and hired many Goblin mercenaries to help defend their home.
